“To seek something is to believe in its possibility.”

Ahsoka Tano shows us how affective she can be as a leader in this week’s episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, entitled “Front Runners.”  As Anakin and Obi-Wan left the planet, I was curious to see how Ahsoka would keep her distance from the insurgent conflict, by not actively engaging the enemy.  To my surprise, the young padawan did an excellent job, yet her jealousy is beginning to show and Anakin is taking notice.  Master Skywalker is definitely a hypocrite, as he informs his apprentice to be wary of her emotions.  This coming from a man who is married to Senator Amidala in secret.  I enjoyed seeing Ahsoka on her own in this mission, yet I couldn’t stop myself from wondering what might be in store for her future?  We know that there are many deaths coming as we move closer to Revenge of the Sith, but what do you think will be Ahsoka’s fate?  Will she perish with the other Jedi, or live to fight another day?  Ms. Tano has become one of my favorite characters in the Star Wars Universe, so I will be sad to see her go if the writers decide to kill her off.  I’m not ready to see the end of her journey quite yet.

As a whole this story arc is less compelling than Darth Maul and Savage Opress, but it’s not as bad as other arcs from seasons past.  I realize that in a twenty-two episode season, there are going to be low points, but watching rebels fight droids is not as exhilarating as watching Jedi battle Sith.  Other characters I’m interested in seeing are Cad Bane and Asajj Ventress.  Those stories are coming in future episodes, and I can’t wait to see how it will all unfold.  I do want to give credit to the writing team for how they’ve developed Steela’s character is such a short amount of time.  As I was watching the episode, I found myself deeply invested in her story, and want to know more about her relationship with her brother Saw.  Please share your thoughts on this week’s episode with me in the comments section below.  Do you think Ahsoka will become overwhelmed by her emotions, and what do you think her fate will be as the season progresses?  Until next time, may the force be with you!
