The first Man of Steel teaser trailer debuted in front of The Dark Knight Rises yesterday and so far I’m liking the tone that Zack Snyder is setting for the movie. I wasn’t a fan of Superman Returns so I’m hoping this movie will be more of what I’m looking for from a Superman movie. What do you think of the trailer?

I know this is only a teaser so any chance this would give me a turn-around on my opinion on this so far was highly unlikely. It's still not giving me much hope. I still think the creative team is full of unsuitable choices and very against the tone that this film is going to take. It's not why I'm a Superman fan, I like that he's the optimist and the believer, from what I can tell he looks like Clark will go through a period of resignation and I don't see the transition to the character I enjoy from that.
But again I do want this on record, I DO WANT TO TO BE PROVEN WRONG! Hopefully I'll be eating my cynicism this time next year, which I am prepared to do because as a Superman fan I do want to see some return to former glory, I just wish it didn't feel like selling out to the Darker and Grittier trend.
OK. I've just seen a trailer with Jor El narration instead of Jonathan Kent as posted here and as I saw when watch DKR. I liked that version. I liked what he was saying, it sounded much MUCH better. And it felt better.
Jor El narration was better than the Jonathan Kent version.
It was a Snyderless teaser and that's a good thing. I want to see a longer version (i.e. the teaser worked).
