I'm so glad you're back!! I've missed your great reviews. The new season started very strong, I'm loving every moment of it. The history and the mythology (a vampire bible = awesome xD ) plays a big role this season:
Lilith – According to legend, Lilith cheated on Adam with archangel Samael (angel of death ad/or the devil), than she left Eden and went to live with the devil and gave birth to thousands of demons (sounds like an episode from Dark Shadows LOL). She is described as a murderous seductive and very sexual being, Queen of the Night, mother of "demons", she has an owl-like wings (there is a 4000 years old plaque with her image, Lilith in Hebrew is a Strix owl) and adding it all up, it's pretty clear why the True Blood writers, in a very smart move, made her the first vampire.
Salome – (aka Shlomit, derives from the word "peace") was a princess from the Herodian dynasty in the kingdom of Judah so it's interesting what her role and agenda are going to be in the show. Is she a goodie or a baddie?
The Guardian prayer – It was in Aramaic, an ancient and endangered language that was assimilated in other semitic languages (Arabic, Hebrew,…), one of those is Hebrew so I understood every word he said, which was so cool and wierd at the same time
Looking forward to watching your next reviews
Yea! so glad you guys are back. Great review! so happy eric is back. pam as usuall is making me laugh ma guts out. one of her best lines this episode was the one about the walmart sweat suit. Totally Hilarious!
FINALLY! I feared that you gave up on True Blood (for whatever reason). Glad to see your reviews back
OMG! OMG! OMG! My fan girl self is all atwitter that you two are back. I thought maybe you'd been staked. Love your reviews and look foward to them every week. Okay – I am loving the Pam/Eric backstory along with the Bill/Eric vampmance. Last year was – in my humble opinion – TB terrible. I hated last season. This year is GREAT! I hope it continues on this path. Love what they have done. It has totally rejuvenated the series. Pam's ring – I think women of that time had snuff jewelry. I'm not sure about the coke, but it was not considered an illegal substance then.
Oh, In S2 or S3 didn't Eric tell Pam, "It's time you became a maker?" Seems like a strange continuaty problem there. Why would Eric say that, given that – we now know – she was a maker.
Glad to have you back!!
"I thought you'd been staked" This is hysterical!!! TY
I disagree that Sookie didn't have to kill Debbie. Yes she was mad that Debbie shot Tara but if she had let Debbie go eventually Debbie was going to come back for her.
Soooo glad you Ladies are BACK!!! You're reviews are the reason I visit the site! I'm so glad Tara is a vampire and I know it's going to be interesting to see her evolve into a kick-ass Vamp. Poor Lafayette…I mean how much more can one gay guy take? And I like the Au-thor-i-taay figures especially the one who looks like Sharon Osborne's Texas-sister. And baby-wolf Emma…too cute just isn't enough.
