‘Prometheus’ opens in theaters nationwide this Friday, so here are several new behind the scenes looks at Ridley Scott’s return to the world of science fiction. I’ve got my ticket ready for tomorrow night, but what about you? Anyone going to a midnight premier, or are you going to wait for the crowds to lessen? As always, let us know what you think in the comments section below.
Synopsis: Ridley Scott, director of “Alien” and “Blade Runner,” returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

I'd best hold on voicing my thoughts until after the ThinkHero team has seen it.
I went to a midnight showing of Prometheus and my feelings are mixed. On the one hand I'm trilled that some light has been shed on the origins of the creatures from the original ALIEN & ALIENS films; plus it was kinda obvious that this film could spinoff into multiple sequels which is awesome for us sci-fi geeks. But I was somewhat disappointed in the pace of this film, everything seemed so rushed! On minute they find a cave drawing and the next they are on their way to the destination. Where's the character development…the banter that we had in the previous movies? I mean what was the rush Ridley Scott? I know the film was 2 hours but I would have rather stayed in the theatre another 20-30 minutes and learn more about these characters then constantly ask myself while viewing the film " what just happended there!!!"
I agree, the character development is pretty bad and for me they are by far the weakest component. A lot of characters are so forgettable it's near unforgiveable. Charlize Theron is hugely miscast and even though Fassbender and Rapace are OK they are capable of so much better than this.
I hate to sound outright accusatory but this story had Damon Lindelof all over it. My friends who I saw this with don't know who Damon Lindelof is but afterwards they said it reminded them of Lost and for good reason. How he constructed the story and laid out mysteries and resolved certain plots. It's all there as it was in Lost.
Can't beleive you guys haven't seen the movie yet to review it.
This film suffers from poor writing, and being caught up in big ideas to the detriment of character development and plot. It was enjoyable in parts and thought provoking, but not a 'Ridley Scott' film.
I've set out my thoughts in my blog, seperating the spoliers, -> http://yinkawills.livejournal.com/
the movie is good but charlize die I thought she will be like alien lead character and make a lot of of sequek but she died she won't be there in part 2
