Great season final! I just wish it was a little bit longer. I am going to have game of thrones withdrawal. Ok there were a lot of things I did not understand. if someone can please give me answers to the following i will be grateful. I have not read the books so some things seem to be a little confusing to me.
First:
Throughout the season what was the purpuse of the band of night watch living the wall was it to hunt wildings or what cause i dont understand what their goal was cuz i am sure as hell it was not white walkers.
2. where did the 500 men who surrounded winterfell go to. who burnt down the place were they thoen's men who burnt it before living or what.
3. what area are the white walkers going to attack exactly, is it the wilding camp or what? Or hey are they also routing for the iron throne cuz with this show you never know.
1. The NW left the wall to investigate the undead that tried to kill the LC and to search for Benjen, since the undead was one of Benjen's men. The do not believe the WW exist at this point. but they suspect things. Especially when they realize Craster is making sacrifices. After craster they go to The Fist of the First Men, where Jon splits from the Watch with Qhorin to find wildling scouts.
2. the 500 men and the burning will be explained next season. As well as the fate of Theon and the krakens.
3. The WW are heading towards the Fist of the First Men, it's where Sam, Grenn, and Edd are. The WW can't cross the wall due to some protective magic spells in it.
thanks for the explanation it was very helpful
Overall this season was great! Peter Dinklage as usuall did a wonderful job. I felt bad for Tyrion he lost everthing. I am loving Sansa She is really playing the game. I will miss Jacqa ( ooops i think i spelled his name wrong) his dynamic with Arya was brilliant.
Danaerys is truly a targaryen. Its amazing how she can be very soft and motherly but can be very brutal we have seen countless of times that she can be very cold in some of her descisions for example, in season 1 when her brother was killed by drogo she did not even show any remorse or plead for his life also when she burnt the witch and now she locked people in a vault. Go Danny u rock! I can't believe the season is over and geoffery is still alive he really makes me sick.
What makes Game of Thrones so amazing is that the characters are just as interesting as the story and I really enjoy how they make the show its own element dispite the fact that it is the adaptation of the books. Here's to season 2 and the upcoming seasons to come…:)
P.S. I love Jenna Busch, so beautiful and bloodthirsty(when it comes to the killing)
It's Jaqen and Joffrey, btw
I feel the same with Shae, not only the character just seems a bit shady(shae-shady) but also, nothing against the actress, but I'm not really convinced with the acting either.
I started hating Sansa now I really her! I have a love-hate thing with Cersei, can't stand her but she's still hypotic to watch, unlike his d!%@#ead son who I just hate! I can't wait to see that little prick suffer a slow humiliating and painful death! (congrats to the actor though)
Tyrion is just genious…GENIOUS! Both the character and Mr.Dinklage (of whom I've had a bit of a celebrity crush and been a fan of for a few years now btw ^^) He truly is the one, of not THE greatest character (ironically and no pun intended) on the show/books, right next to Arya for me.
I absolutely agree with the last part, I would loooove to have at least 12 episodes per season. My new motto for HBO would be: 10 months too long, 10 episodes just not enough…. 10 MONTHS TOOO LONG, 10 EPISODES JUST NOT ENOUGH!
Love the review.. love the show…love the books(just started the 3rd one) love you guys… I just cannot wait for next season! Say it with me.. 10 months too long..!! haha best wishes! see you next year!
Sorry.. typos. "…a bit of a celebrity crush on and been a fan of for a few years now btw ^^) He truly is one, if not THE greatest character…"
Half an hour of kick-ass review, as epic as the second season was

I can't wait 10 months, it's too long! I need GOT rehab LOL . I've read all the books already so I'm totally GOTless. Maybe I should throw a GOT marathon party with food from the books and the show like a meat pie in honor of Hot Pie and Sansa's favorite mini Lemon Cakes
Me being nitpicking – I can say only one bad thing about the season finale and that's my little disappointment with the House of the Undying (HOTU) . I understand the changes from the books and think they are smart and work great (like Arya+Tywin or the big Wild Fire explosion instead of the giant chain) but that change with the HOTU was a downgrade, in the books it's much much better. There is a reason why it's called "Undying" and it wasn't shown- we didn't get to see all the UNDEAD warlocks, and most important, see and hear all the various visions and prophecies. That's a waste of a great chapter and.
On the other hand, an episode with Brienne slaying, Winterfell burning, Dragons galore, Varys everywhere, Sansa "free" at last, Dany with Drogo and the Iron Throne, Jaqen "faceless", Direwolves and Master Luwin dead is 100% AWESOME. I'm gonna miss it..
Fantastic season finale for Game of Thrones.
Not much of an arc for Dani (but yes a spectacular dragon scene in the finale) but I expect she'll get alot more scene time next season.
Although it was never said outright, I did understand that Half hand wanted Jon Snow to kill him in order to gain the trust of his captors.
The sight of The Walkers sent chills down my spine. Pure horror! So many different factions fighting for the Iron Throne but none of them know what's coming their way. Sam must have shit his pants. LOL
Quorin said to John before he died "we are the watchers in the night…" that alone bears a lot of weight and if John is smart enough, and I believe he is… he gets it…
Also, in the episode before Blackwater, Quorin tells John that he must infiltrate the wildlings and when John says they'll never trust him Quorin says something like "You have to do what needs to be done." Then Quorin starts fighting with Jonh to put on a show for the wildlings. So yeah, I think this point was pretty clearly illustrated.
Theon Greyjoy was perhaps the most sympathetic character of the finale. Growing up with conflicted loyalties and never fully belonging to either the Starks or his own family. The things he did are unforgivable but I feel sorry for him.
I never read the books so I was thrown for a loop when Jocken (spelling) changed his face.
Agreed that "Blackwater" was hands down the best episode of the season..if not series so far. Fantastic action but Cersei really shines in this episode – all her past hurt and pain are clearly seen.
I don't think there is a central character anymore after Ned Stark's death. True Tyrion maybe the moral compass of the show but I think it is an ensemble show. Too many fascinating characters to count.
I really wonder how they are going to split up book 3 for seasons 3-4. For some reason I don't think it's going to be a clean cut like they did with the Harry Potter movies. I feel like they may completely restructure and untangle the different arcs in book 3 and separate them into two seasons.
Also, George RR Martin is apparently writing the seventh episode – which I think is telling considering he wrote Blackwater. If you read book three you know what I'm hinting at.
I liked this season much more than the 1st one.Now I will tell some things about the characters.
I believe that despite the fact that John Snow was set a bit aside this season,he is destined for great things. However firstly he must gain experiences from the battle in the north.I am curious if the Whitewalkers cross the wall!John and Daenerys have some things in common.I think that they are both going to become very important.I like her but at times she is cruel. You are right guys and girl, what she did to her female servant and to the black man was too much!Remember how she let her brother die in the 1st season too!
Stannis is probsbly going to become a puppet of Mellisandre in the next season…
The Lannisters…What a behaviour to Tyrion after he saved all of them.I can understand Cersei since she is the one who ordered his murder but I can not understand how Tywin let this happen.Firstly he appoints Tyrion as the hand of the King and when the city is saved thanks to Tyrion he lets Cersei out manuvere him,bad judgement…
However the joy of Cersei might not hold too much. She lets a a woman marry her son that might challenge Cersei for the title of the biggest viper inside the palace.I am refering to Margaery Tyrell of course..
About the Starks, since they are the good guys in the show,I hope that they find their way,but difficult times are ahead for them..
As you have figured out Ihave not read the books.I like the suspence of not knowing what is going to happen in the show!!
It was a great season with an awesome battle at ep.9!I am looking forward for the next season!
