Check out this new behind the scenes look at ‘Prometheus,’ starring Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron and Idris Elba. The film will be released on June 8, 2012, and it’s the movie I’m most looking forward to seeing this summer. I’ve already purchased my tickets for the IMAX 3D screening. How do you think ‘Prometheus’ will do as far as box office numbers are concerned?
-Synopsis: Ridley Scott, director of “Alien” and “Blade Runner,” returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

Wow, actual (and pretty amazing) sets and not a giant green screen aquarium, respect .I hope it will be a box office success so we'll have a sequel or maybe even sequels, like in the Alien saga (If they could bring Ellen Ripley somehow to the story, that would be priceless).
I hope it does well at the box office as well, though I think it was a mistake to not use the Alien name as part of the marketing campaign. A lot of friends who are casual movie goers don't know much about the movie and once I said Alien, they became very interested.

I agree that Ridley Scott's attempt to distance Prometheus from the original Alien movie is a mistake too. Even though it's obvivous from the trailers & clips that there must be some type of link between Prometheus & Alien…I mean how many Space Jockey ships could there be that have crashed on remote rocky planets? I REALLY hope the fans come out to see Prometheus because Ridley Scott hasn't really had a big hit since Gladiator and that was back in 2000.
I'm not sure why Ridley keeps saying it's not an Alien prequel when the movie is about the events that happened before Alien part one, with direct links to the ship that Ripley and company found.
I've seen it, as I'm in England. It…leaves you with more questions than answers. Wont go into detail so as not to spoil it for those yet to see it.
Big ideas, amazing visuals. Fassbender steals the film.
If it had been made by the average director, Id have sad it was a good scifi film. But from Ridley Scott, one expects more, and by his standards, its flawed.
I've done a long review on my blog : http://bit.ly/102fzc
And, it SO is an 'Alien' prequel!
Roger Ebert calls Prometheus – "A magnificent Sci-fi film, all the more intriguing because it raises questions about the origin of human life and doesn't have the answers."

Also wanted to put out that once DC relases their homosexual character, hopefully it will be someone interesting and not someone cough-JImy-cough-Olson-cough that is completely unecessary.
