This episode's awesomeness had a lot to do with it's director. Benioff and Weiss should just put Neil Marshall on retainer for all episodes that need a filmmaker's eye.
the thing in the place? the first big red thing or the other big wine-choky thing (whiich by the way I can;t wait to see, finally!)? Or what big thing? There are so many! Cuz maybe the first one will be in season 3 and the second one til' the fourth one, don't know. All I know is that 10 episode are not enough and waiting for 3rd season is gonna be tooortuuure! Oh by the way looove your reviews you guys are awesome and really funny! Great job!
Ps. who the hell was shae gonna say goodbye to? I'm so confused by her, does she freaking loves Tyrion or not? She acts like it but I don't finish to believe her so.. in case she does, she was saying goodbye to tyrion? And if she doesn't..why on earth did she stay?!
Tyrion owning the night
Epic Explosion
Great moments with Cersei(Jesus that's hard to say), sorry, drunk Cersei
The Hound being a(had to say it)beast
The brilliance of George RR Martian
Conclusion: A reason to love this show…:)
Superb episode. A little confused by The Hound. He's not a coward but seemed a little freaked out by the carnage the green fire caused. Did he just figure that it was a losing cause, to hell with it and f**k the King?
Also when Lannister senior rode in to save the day it reminded me a bit of LOTR part II when Gandalf did the same at Helm's Deep.
remember the tale Littlefinger tells Sansa at the Tourney of the Hand back in the first series? About how he got his burned face?
Oh yeah. I guess it brought back memories.
Sorry ladies you are wrong about the fire not being real. It was called by many names like Greek fire. It was not green but I guess George Martin just made it green for the book.
In greek language we call it ''liquid fire'' and historically it was used by the byzantines against many enemies but mostly against the arabs who besieged the constantinople 2 times. These crucial sieges have not received the recognition it deserved from european historians. If the city fell, then the arabs would be unstopable and they would sack the biggest part of Europe. So it was not just Charles Martel who saved Europe by stopping the Arabs at the battle of Tours. The writer of the books has read very much history.
Roth, chemistry in school told me that fire can have every color we can imagine (I've seen at least 4 different including purple!). So it's not fantasy, it's about the medium catalyzing the fire
I loved how they handled the Blackwater Bay battle. You could see they put the major part of their budget into this episode.
Great recap, ladies! I was looking forward to this episode all season and I thought it was very well done. Agree with all you said about the amazing Tyrion and the layers that emerged in Cersei. I loved Sansa stepping up and trying to keep the other women calm. It was only a moment, but one that showed her strength even in dire circumstances. I enjoyed Tyrion and Shae's conversation in bed, and I was touched by his admission of fear.
Oh! And speaking of fear, I think my favorite scenes were with the Hound. He's no coward, but he knows his limits and fire is the thing he won't face. His expressoin when the wildfire exploded was great, and the way he made no apology for returning to the castle. I found myself af first being disappointed – because I love watching him fight – but also wanting to give this frightening guy a hug. I enjoy how every character has a weakness, even those that seem invincible.
My thoughts on Blackwater: Brilliantly amazing! Loved all the characters (except Joffrey). The dialog and acting in this episode was very very good. The look on Tyrions face, as we heard the screams from the people burning in the wildfire and later after the small victory when his solders were chanting, these scenes, was very expressive of realistic emotion. Dinklage is an amazing actor. Now speaking of… I thought the Mountains sword went through his face, not just scratched. If he is still alive I will be extremely happy.
The look on Sansa's face when the Hound was talking about how everyone is a killer as great. Like she was figuring things out with in her mind.
I could go on, but I have one major question. The red witch has gone through a lot of trouble and having a smoke baby for Stanis. How could she just let him go off without her? Seems odd. And!!! Was Stanis captured, or was those his men holding him back? I don't want this season to end, but also want next episode now!

Those were Stannis' men. Not much of a spoiler since they were telling him that he had to leave and pulling him away from the fight. This is not the last you've heard of Stannis Baratheon!
Its because he asked her not to come, lord stavos (the onion guy) told him that people say his last victory when renley was killed was her victory not his. And that he should not have her in Kings Landing or they would say the same now too..
Now thats a episode! Game of Trones S02 E09 -> Epic
Great episode. Very impressive for a TV show.
As we near the end of this season, it is really becoming apparent to me that this one needed more episodes or, better yet like the upcoming 2 seasons for the third book, the second book needed two seasons to tell it as well.
Season 3 new characters revealed!

The Reeds!! (Jojen & Meera), Mance Rayder (please be Viggo Mortensen), Tormund Giantsbane, Edmure Tully, Brynden Tully "The Blackfish", Daario Naharis, Lady Selyse and Shireen, Olenna Redwyne "The Queen of Thorns" (please be Maggie Smith), Beric Dondarrion, Thoros of Myr.
I'm so happy. Season 3 is going to be EPIC.
Good god that was an amazing episode.
I admire your enthusiasm for the series, but your review is one of the most useless things I have ever seen..you're not reviewing, you're chatting…anyone can do that..
oh and serious spoiler saying Tyrion isn't dead! I mean not really spoiler, as in that it spoils somebody mood but it does spoil the suspension.. that is really unprofessional..
Loved the review (and that Cersei imitation xD ).The episode deserved to be viewed as an IMAX 3D movie. That was EPIC. Every time Cersei called Sansa I wanted to bitch-slap her, she was so annoying (Lena Heady FTW).
They have so many things to show in the next also epic episode. I don't know how they are going to do that. I hope the 10 extra minutes will help to achieve that goal.
Great episode. The fire scene was epic! as usual Tyrion was amazing. Cercei and Sansa dynamic was good.
Pesronally, when the queen spoke to the slave lover of Tyrion I was simultanously afraid about her.I dodnot know what is going yet btween them, but I believe that the queen either knows or at least suspects something. The siege was epic but the dialoques were epic as well in this ep!!
