“He knows too much, eliminate him!”
The girls venture to Bialya in search of alien technology, while Jaime searches for his friend in the fifth episode of Young Justice: Invasion, entitled “Beneath.” While it was nice seeing the ladies in action against Simon and his goons, the highpoint of the episode would have to be Jaime’s adventure in El Paso, and his internal struggle with the scarab’s artificial intelligence. For a young kid, Jaime exhibits great poise, by not giving into the “easy way” that his internal-counterpart would like him to take. Although, I would have enjoyed seeing Jaime use his plasma cannon on that no good excuse of a parental guardian. As I said in my previous review, the writers have been giving us excellent character building moments as the season has progressed. Like many of you, I would love to see more interactions with Nightwing, Red Arrow, Aqualad and Kid Flash, but at least Greg Weisman and his writing team are developing the new characters that we’ve been introduced to this season more extensively. I have a feeling that once we’ve been more exposed to this new team, that the story will shift to encompass all of the main superheroes. Do you like the direction the story is going in, or would you rather spend more time with the previous season’s team?
With Blue Beetle handling “family business” in El Paso, the lovely Alpha Squad members of Batgirl, Bumblebee, Wonder Girl and Miss Martian were tasked with the mission to uncover alien tech in the highly volatile region of Bialya. Wonder Girl may not be the stealthy warrior that Batgirl and M’gann are, but she can sure throw a punch. I found myself gleefully anticipating her ability to catch the falling plane by herself, but it appears that she does not yet possess the same strength as her mentor, Princess Diana. Young Justice continually stresses the importance of teamwork, so even if Cassie could not stop the plane’s rapid descent, the other members of Alpha Squad were quick to lend a helping hand.
Linking the two unique stories of Alpha Squad and Blue Beetle at the end was a nice touch on the part of the writers. I hope Jaime is able to save his friend. What were your thoughts on this week’s episode of Young Justice? Do you think we’ll see the return of Kid Flash and Artemis to the team anytime soon? As always, let me know what you think in the comments section below.

I really enjoyed this episode , i also really enjoyed bumble bee in teen titans she was introduced as being a kick ass spy and then the become the leader of teen titans east , of course this wasn't the case here but i always love seeing her in action her powers are so cool to me and dare i say David i think shes the stealthiest one , being the only girl not to get caught , talk about being a fly on the wall
as for Blue beetle i can not say enough how much i loved the line " He knows too much Eliminate him !" made my day but what really made my day is the the boy BB was looking for , you might not know this , but Apache chief is the name of the size altering superhero from the super-friends and they also use the name Long-shadow which was the name given to a super hero of Apache chief's likeness and had the same powers in justice league unlimited so i hope there foreshadowing something , maybe he will be a future member of the team
I can't say which episode is my fave this season, as each new one takes the palm from its predecessor
What's really cracked me up was how Babs fraked with poor Dick's head! that was priceless
"Queen Bee isn't the only female who can mess with a male's mind!" she said
That was, a the saying goes, a crowning moment of funny
I found it interesting that none of the Lighters knew who Cassie was. And judging by her attitude with Di, last week, she might still be quite new. The fact hat BG, Bee and MM didn't take her with them proved, despite the valid reason that they needed a looker, that they didn't trust her just yet.
I'm not familiar wit Jaimie Reyes' background to really really judge that plot
Though, at the beginning, I half expected Tai to say "This is 2015, not 1915!"
(which would be a tip of the at to another Native American themed episode of Greg Weisman's lore, "Cloud Fathers")
Thumbs up for the Superfriends/Ultimen reference!
I mean Long Shadow/Apace Chief?
Am I the only one who has watched Superfriends?
Hahaha, I think so. I didn't start getting into superhero cartoons until 1992, when Batman: The Animated Series started. I'm also not a big reader of Teen Titans, or the Young Justice comic book, so I'm missing some of these references
Inuck Chuck!
…..well am the one who pointed it out first but ok .
no , i noticed that too , actually i already mentioned it in my comment
Always liked super heros and their background stories, what’s crazy is that I luckily came across this show flicking through the channels…..and since then I been watching it ever since, GREAT STORY LINES and PLOTS! They mesh the stories of each character well, They need to come out with a movie! First a Justice League Movie then a Young Justice movie
That would be awesome Jason, if only DC could get their act together. Marvel is kicking butt in the movie business, but hopefully DC will find a way to compete. At least we have the wonderful universe that Bruce Timm and his crew have created for us over the years. Thanks for checking out the review…
Lol right, well it’s a Batman, Superman & Green Lantern movie out & I heard theyre making Wonder Woman & Aquaman movies so well see, & hopefully when all the movies from both sides are said & done they will come out with a Marvel vs DC movie……..wishful thinking lol
I think they will turn those 4 kids into Apache Chief, Samurai, El Dorado, and Black Vulcan. If you noticed each one of them were of different ethnic groups.
I thought I was the only person that saw this. I mean, the audience is practically hit over the head with it. First, with the Apache Chief reference, then with the characters at the end. They even have the same color scheme for their outfits.
