What is happening to me? I'm starting to wonder if some Alternate JaiCSC who likes Fauxlivia is invading my thoughts… I think I watch this show too much.
I like that Broyles wasn't a shape shifter cause that would seem like a huge cop out. You are right in that it doesn't make much sense but I give Fringe's writers more credit because decent explanations usually follow. The story isn't as irreparably convoluted as something like Lost which needed the simple cop out to clear up the story.
Given the renamed Finale and Jones' god complex, My theory is he's collapsing both universes and from whatever is left he'll have full control over. I imagine he's trying be God of the new world. His treatments to Chris is just experimentation.
Personally. I liked this episode from start to finish. Some parts begrudgingly. I liked the case for the week. I liked the scene with the Astrids. The Walter Fauxlivia scene. I like Colonel Broyles and his family. One I just liked. Can't really say much more than that.
Interesting to listen to these comments in light of what happened in Worlds Apart – 4.20. Amazing how the writers have taken audience perceptions of the Alternate Universe(AU) where we started with viewing everyone as an enemy. And over the course of the last two seasons there has been a total 180 where we really came to love these characters.
Roth do you have kids? Yes your explanation of alt-Broyes not having any leverage anyways when both universes are destroyed makes sense BUT if you could keep your kid alive by any means necessary – you'd do it and hope for the best.
Also Walternate can tell who is a shape shifter. Remember he found out his assistant was one. Who's to say he wouldn't have seen through a shapeshifter Broyes?
Again. I liked Fauxlivia in this.
