Here’s the second viral clip from Ridley Scott’s upcoming film ‘Prometheus,’ which premiers on June 8, 2012. Yesterday at the Prometheus panel, Michael Fassbender announced that his character’s name is David, and he’s an Android that will be joining the ship’s team. Fassbender also wanted to make it known that this news was not a spoiler, because the viewer will discover his origins early in the movie. What do you think of the viral campaign that FOX is doing? Personally I think it’s a brilliant idea, because it’s almost like they’re slowly showing us what the world of ‘Prometheus’ will be like, so we’ll have more context when we see it in theaters. Let us know what you think in the comments section below.

The release of supplement content is not a new concept and they have been doing this kind of thing on TV shows for years. HBO's True Blood for example always releases pre-season video and even going so far as developing full video filled mock websites. But Promethes seems to be doing it now in a very positive way, first the Ted video and now the David Andriod video. I'm really looking forward to this movie too. I really want to understand where the Space Jockey ship came from.
