“Revenge” was an excellent way to conclude the season, featuring some wonderful fights and great dialogue, making this the best season of Clone Wars yet. Firstly, I want to praise the writers for their daringness to explore new mythologies within the Star Wars Universe. The opening scenes with Mother Talzin ripping away Darth Maul’s haunted past with her bare hands was both frightening, and beautiful. The exploration into the mythology of the Nightsisters was one of my favorite aspects of this season. Did any of you think that Maul’s transformation was reminiscent of Darth Vader’s in Revenge of the Sith? Vader’s procedure wasn’t as magical, but both men were in excruciating pain.
The last two episodes featured some great voice acting. Sam Witwer (Being Human, Battlestar Galactica) did an amazing job portraying the psychotic nature of Maul, only then to be “cured” by Mother Talzin, and become the calmer version of the Sith Lord that we saw in Phantom Menace. Clancy Brown (Shawshank Redemption, Justice League) gives a memorable performance as well, with his booming voice giving weight to the formidable Savage Opress.
The season couldn’t have ended better, and I’m thrilled that Maul and Opress will be around for a little bit longer. I hope we don’t have to wait until the end of season 5 to see them again. Another striking moment in “Revenge” was watching Obi-Wan and Asajj Ventress team up to fight the Sith brothers. There was some great banter between the two comrades, like Obi-Wan saying, “Since when did you become the good guy,” and “Red isn’t really my color.” I know many of you, myself included, thought that one of these characters (Ventress, Savage, Maul) was going to die, but it seems like the team at Lucas Animation has more in store for us in the Fall. What did you think of this fantastic finale? Were you underwhelmed, or was it everything you hoped it would be. Lastly, what do you think we’ll see in the upcoming season? I can’t wait to find out! May the Force be with you all.

I was kinda underwhelmed but only because of how awesome each episode has been up until now! Don't get me wrong, it was a great episode but I was kinda expecting more from the season finale.
I was really surprised Ventress had no idea who Maul was! I look forward to see where they go with this next season tho…
I hear you, this season has been great. I hope they keep this pacing up for next season. Thanks for checking out the review…
I really can't wait for next season. Great review. Also if anyone wants to know what happens next, read Star Wars The Clone Wars: The Sith Hunters coming out in August! The year of Maul is going strong!
Thanks for the suggestion. I think I'll pick that up. I'm currently reading the new "Darth Plagueis" book, which is an origin story for Senator Palpatine. Good book so far
I was quite disappointed. Considering how great the preceding episodes were, this one seemed rather contrived.
I dunno, just riffing.
When Obi-Wan first encountered Savage in this episode, he seemed weak and off balance. How could they (Maul and Savage) so quickly and easily put him on the ground? Maybe because the show is only 30 minutes.
This show so often goes above and beyond what is necessary for a good program. The final episode was kind of underwhelming as some else said.
A very good episode indeed!!I look forward for the next season!!
Me too. This season has been incredible, but I'm wondering how much longer the series will go on? When the series first began, Lucas said he envisioned the show taking place over 100 episodes or so. With season five premiering this Fall, will this be the final season of SWTCW?
I think that if the series continues to have the same acceptace by the fans, they can continue it for 2 seasons for sure. Many things could be presented besides the obvious Maul-Kenobi vendeta.I am curious for what Ventress still has for all of us.Moreover the strange thing is that 2 of mother Taunzin loyal servants are bitter enemies now..Another thing:what will Duku do about Maul. Moreover will there be any interaction between Anakin and Maul??What will be the stance of the future emperor towards his former aprentice??
I'm glad how you say ""What will be the stance of the future emperor towards his former aprentice?? """
Like that have realy adveted any spoilers to anyone..
Anyhow I'm also very impress with this Seasons 4 storyline. It is certainly leading more toward the Dark side and more sinister characters urking around.
It is becoming more adult theme included then the previuos seasons which was aim too much at young teenagers.
