I gotta say I'm not terribly impressed by this at all. I dunno, perhaps I've been spoiled by the kick ass trailers for both the Avengers and the Dark Knight Rises. In fact there's something about this that feels off as well, and I think it has something to do with the actors and the CG. I liked Andrew Garfield in the Social Network but I just can't get into him as Spider man. He looks sort of silly. Same for Emma Stone, I see her more as Mary Jane. Also, the CG looks really bad, and feels like a cartoon. This was fine for the earlier films since it was going for a lighter cartoony feel, however this doesn't seem to work for the more serious tone they're trying to establish. In fact I'm getting a Green Lantern vibe, which doesn't bode well. Anyways, we'll have to wait and see how this shapes up. Hopefully it won't be as bad as the Green Lantern was.
I'm suddenly thinking that Andrew Garfield has a voice for Spiderman and Peter Parker. But when I see him something isn't matching for me. What I'm seeing is overriding what I'm hearing.
I am not sure about the actor. But this new spidey look is awesome. Love that costume! Emma Stone looks almost exactly like the comic book. I wonder is she going to die at the end like in the comic? I thinks this movie looks a little darker but it might be fun.
I might be mistaken but doesn't her father captain stacy die in the comics first. That would make a great ending to the first movie. I love the actor and the darker side to the story has a more realistic feeling that the sam rami happy spiderman movies. This is how it should have been done in the first place.
I totally agree with you.
ehhhhhhhhh…I'm not loving this trailer. Still gonna see it tho.
I like this whole vigilante take on the NEW Spiderman! I'm also digging the clip in the trailer when he's dodging the officers bullets, visually reminiscent of "the matrix". Neo had a sort of Spider Sense too, I guess. The fight scenes especially seem less of a "rubber man" thing like in the Toby McGuire version, which is cause for excitement. As far as Garfield. He seems like a non-creative casting choice. Great actor for sure, but he seems like a no-brainer that they would cast him here. I guess we should just be happy that they didn't choose Taylor Lautner. Can you imagine watching a 2 hr Spiderman movie with that guy? Let's not.
Love Spidey quipping with the bad guys!!! The one element that Raimi never managed to incorporate into his movies.
Mixed feelings about this. Some highs. Some lows.
Prefer the Raimi version of the costume. Not a fan of choosing the Lizard as the Big Bad. Do like the relationships and how they seem to be handled. Wish they would have kept the Peter/Lizard connection under wraps too.
As for the CGI, going to hold judgement until the movie. Except for the Lizard shots nothing looked jarringly out of place.
Overall, definitely left with positive vibes & will definitely be seeing this. Hopefully in 2D.
Looks interesting. Looks like they are providing a backstory about Peter Parker's father. This was not done before. However overall I think this reboot comes way too fast on the heels of the last franchise.
Also not really loving Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker. Toby Maguire more fit the part.
