OK now I can comment but there is no actual video review
Ok I've fixed the comments and video. Not sure what happened it was fine earlier.
I want to see a comparison of Eric/Sookie on the show vs the books because I feel the books are better, want to see if others feel the same.
Fantastic finale. I agree with you – the writers pulled it off. Truly heartbreaking moments – Lafayette and Jesus…with Lafayette having to live with the guilt of killing his lover. Marni and Antonia was also emotionally satisfying. In spite of all that she did I did feel sorry for Marni and all that she has been through.
Some questions: who was the wolf that confronted Sam? Debbie before she was killed or another wolf from the pack? What exactly is it about Terry's past and does it entail a supernatural element? Who freed Russell Ederington?
Was it Pam so she can use him to get to Sookie? We have truly seen a different side of Pam this season. Things that she holds dear e.g her looks and Eric, have been taken from her and she didn't handle it well. Was that what she was like as a human?
I agree that there is no way that Tara is dead. How she stays remains to be seen. Tara as a human is a volatile, hurt and bitter person. I shudder to think what Zombie Tara would be like. And the biggest shock of them all – the preacher from the Fellowship of the Sun is now a vampre. Fantastic! Can't wait to see how that plays out. Sad to see Nan is gone. I really liked her character. And please God let the fairies be a small part of season 5.
I think part of season 5 will deal with "The Authority" – who they are and also who are the factions that do not share their vision. Do these factions want a return to the old ways with humans being just food?
Looking forward to your reviews of True Blood season 5…and Dexter season 6 too pretty please? LOL …Roth see you on the Fringe page soon.
Missed my favorite quote. Jesus: You can't trade magic like f***ing pokemon cards!
LOL! Great review! I having a true blood marathon starting tonite. I can't wait to see a Zombie Tara next season.
Uhh… did anyone else think it was weird that Ghost René still had his fake cajun accent?
I noticed that too and it drove me nuts!
The matching robes… why Lord?? But I liked, anyway, I really want to see the next season… Great review, as usual.
Wow.. there's a lot of Brazilian Fans of these review, and I thoght I was the only one.
Luana, eu tb adoro os reviews daqui. Adorei seu video de Thriller. hehehe.
Great season final. Heartbreaking moments between Lafayette and jesus. This episodes had one of the best lines. I like the relationship between bill and Eric I think it’s interesting to see both of them work together. Oh lord Tara could she really be dead or come back as something else. Russell is back! I am so excited. Great review ladies! I am looking forward to the TB recaps u will be having.
Hey I love your reviews of the episodes. I wonder if you'll ever post all the unedited stuff?
As much as I loved this season's witchy storyline, I'm concerned about all the elements that they are setting up for next season. Ghosts, possible "Return of the Faeries", the Authority, Russell, Terry's Past, and so on, how are the writers are going to juggle it all and still give all these stories their fair share. Already this season felt fractured since characters of one storyline barely saw anyone of the other, like Sam said "I haven't seen you in awhile". Each storyline was so isolated from the other that Debbie trying to kill Sookie was when I really felt that storylines were effecting each other. What do you guys think?
And maybe I need to go back and watch it again, but was there any resolution about the creepy baby and the baby's doll?
OMG! Thank you so much for the mention hahahaha. I'm so glad that you liked the video, I had a lot of fun making it.
I'll be back for Fringe reviews
Here’s what I’d like to see you discuss – plot driven story vs. character driven story.
I think you were both VERY kind to True Blood this season. Their story telling has always (post season 1) been a bit erratic and their cast way too bloated. (Not every character should be considered a main course, some should just spice the soup, you know what I’m saying?) That said I used to be able to connect with the characters. I found that incredibly hard to do this season.
I think that my problem is that the stories were largely plot driven (not all, but most). Over and over again characters behaved in ways I didn’t understand. Particularly Eric, who I won’t deny is my favorite character. (I haven’t read the books, I’m not “Team Eric” or “Team Bill.” In my opinion both characters are more interesting without Sookie.)(Incidentally, must you hate yourself to be in a relationship with Sookie? She’s a badly realized character but I wouldn’t have thought self-loathing was a requirement to date her.) I know that Eric had amnesia, but did he have to hate himself? When he got his memory back did he need to moon over Sookie like a sick child? Who is this guy? I don’t recognize him?
Sookie forgiving Bill. Does anyone behave like this? Last year in your review of the Season 3 finale you spoke of forgiveness being a process. I couldn’t agree more. I don’t care if Sookie ultimately forgives Bill but I needed to see the process. This is my biggest point about the plot driven rather then story driven aspect of this season. For example – We want a threesome so damn it we’ll have it no matter how little we’ve earned it. I could go on and on.
So that’s my topic suggestion. Am I being too critical? Am I way off base? What do you think?
By the way, I’m so with you on Terry. DON’T MESS WITH TERRY. And I think Terry’s Sargent is the wolf threatening Sam, just a thought.
AMEN to your remark on Sookie and Bill. I so wanted to see the same thing, what they did in the show was just… well, stupid for lack of a better word. Especially because of the fact she said, "I hope you can forgive me too." …really. Sookie? -Really-? What the hell does Bill need to forgive her for?
Also how was him lying about the Rattray beating 'protecting' her? Protecting her from knowing that the guy she thought she loved manipulated her into falling in love with him? If they were just going to pretend that that whole reveal never happened, they shouldn't have put it in the show at all. Honestly that entire scene just kind of ruined the episode for me, I definitely wanted Sookie to choose herself (even though I love Eric like whoa) but I wanted it done differently — this was just ridiculous. =/
Hmm.. it could be the sargent, I hadn't thought that, I have a lot of questions about this character but that never ocurred to me, but.. why would he want to kill Sam? He doesn't even know him, does he? _Also I wonder… why was he so shocked when he saw Terry was married?? (some sort of brokeback mountain story from back in the army there?ha ok just kidding). _Apart from that I pretty much agree with you in everything, they totally lost the escence of some of the characters and they just made them do what they needed to do to get the story going as they wanted, completly lossing the the characters personality. They became puppets which made it so hard to some of us to relate to them, precisely because they weren't acting like themselves like Sookie who.. honestly wasn
Hmm.. I hadn't thought of that, but it could be the sargent! I have a lot of questions about this character but that never ocurred to me, cuz unless this wolf is a new character that they're gonna introduce I dont see any other character that could be(giving that none of the other werewolves from the pack were that relevant and even if it could've been Debbie before she died, she was a white wolf and this one was black) Maybe is the crazy werewolf that wanted to kill vampires and Alcide interrupted from a fight. Still the sargent would be a better option but if it was him why would he want to kill Sam? He doesn't even know him, does he?
Also I wonder… why was he so shocked when he saw Terry was married?? (some sort of brokeback mountain story from back in the army there?ha ok just kidding).
Apart from that I pretty much agree with you in everything, they totally lost the escence of some of the characters and they just made them do what they needed to do to get the story going as they wanted, completly lossing the their personalities. They became puppets which made it so hard to some of us to relate to them, precisely because they weren't acting like themselves, like Sookie who.. honestly wasn't always the brightest of them all but they just went to far with the damsel in distress thing this season . Even if Eric was amnesiac, like Roth and Jenna said it wouldn't make him the vegetable he was.
So for season 5 I hope they'll get back the characters original personalities and stay true to them.
OH an also….. I agree DON'T YOU DAAAARE MESS WITH TERRY! (although it is pretty obvious that they will anyway, maybe they will reveal that he was all sadistic and did really terrible things during war or something like that, which is what made him go bannanas, so they'll just give us a look to this dark side of him that we havent really seen, but hopefully won't ruin him for us nor get him killed or something).
Aaaanyway, good topic suggestion ! Buena Vibra.
waaaa! I' so sorry for all the replies, my computer got stuck and went crazy and published the same comment over and over, and I'n new at thinkhero and I have no idea how to erase a comment (if I can) haha, really sooooooo sooooorry!
I don't like the end, cuz we wait like forever to see Sookie and Eric as a couple. How can she said that it was over?, It doesn't even started, they never got together since he got his memories back. Also, everybody end alone and broken hearted : Sookie, Eric, Bill, Hoyt, Lafayette, Pam, Tara (dead) Alcide, Debbie (dead). I really hope Season 5 Eric and Sookie find their way and got back together, will have to wait almost a year to know.
Love your reviews! The lines in this episode were hilarious!! I would really like to see some Pam/Eric backstory next season since the intensity of their relationship has been set up so well. It will be really interesting to see how LaFayette interacts with his inner demon considering the deaths of people he loves the most. I also look forward to seeing Sookie a lil' rough around the edges perhaps. Her best friend was murdered in front of her eyes. Their has to be some sort of internal struggle we get to see concerning that next season. Can't wait to see some True Blood inspired videos from you both.
This episode was so great. Best part is Sookie killing Debbie. She was like "please, don't kill me", and Sookie was like "i don't care, just die, bitch!" POOOWWW… LOL
Am I the only one who burst out laughing when Ghost Marnie said to Gran "Oh, this fucking sucks!" xD
And I reacted the same way about what Rene told about Terry. I shouted at my screen: DON'T MESS WITH TERRY!
By the way, I was angry at the shooting Tara in the head. I think she's definitely dead and she's not coming back. I hold your bet, Roth LOL
Ohhh, I'm going to miss your Tag Team Reviews. Thoughts for shows:
If possible, could you ask the TB actors what their favorite scenes were and why? What they would like to know about their character, or see happen in future shows?
A discussion regarding the ending of the series. Will TB's series finale be the same as the book's finale? Should it? Does it matter?
In the books, Sookie is an average size women, with bigger than average sized breasts. She is shapely, and I think a size ten or twelve. Discuss why TB did not choose an actress who resembles Sookie, and instead went with the typical, very thin femaile. Not a judgement about AP. It would have been refreshing to see a female on screen who is considered attractive that isn't a size 1.
What a great season, finale and review! Watching your reviews is so much fun, you notice and analyze every bit of TB and it's been a pleasure. Thank you
Topics: The supernaturals beings in the TB world (all of them, in the books and the show, from past and future), The third wheel syndrome (Eric+Bill+Sookie, Sookie+Debbie+Alcide, Jason+Jessica+Hoyt, Pam+Eric+Soookie…. and there are many many more), The Authority – are we going to see at last some old school vampires??, WTF is going on with Tara – first was the abusing mother and Maryann, then the abduction, later she magically became lesbian and now she is dead!! (so sad, she's one of my favorite characters), Pam and Eric – the full story. It would be great if you could get a TB actor/actress to special guest
Some points: Sookie's kitchen is the most dangerous place. Steve Newlin – how did became a vampire?? a lot of explaining. Hoyt and Maxine Fortenberry – I really hope they won't get rid of them now that Jessica is with Jason and Tommy is dead, they are great characters and amazing actors. Pam might rat on Sookie powers to the authority and that may cause some frictions in the Eric-Pam relationship. How Tara could be a zombie if zombies usually created from a virus or a plague, not a shot in the head? And of course, DON’T MESS WITH TERRY!! He's been great as Zach on the Gilmore Girls and he's the perfect husband for Arlene. It would be sad watching him going crazy and end up dead in season 5 finale..
Can't wait for season 5. Bring on the zombies!
Pitch Perfect episode and great review once again. Just wanted to ask, maybe I'm wrong, but in the books , I believe that the little doctor lady who is treating Pam is actually a Goblin. So I guess we have those covered too
One future plot element raised its dainty head in the previous episode: Sheriff Bellefleur and his romp in the woods with the faerie girl. Where do you think that story will go?
When you talk about the books versus the shows, I'd like to hear your thoughts on how strong and powerful fairies are in print and how lame they are (so far) on the tube. Thanks — love your reviews and I am an OLD soul, though merry as hell.!
Loved this episode!
