Once more great review! Although I enjoyed this episode, I thought last episode was way better. I enjoy the Jessica /Jason/hoyt storyline. Also, the witch storyline as usual was great. I agree with u guys that bill this season is way better. I luv him more without sookie in his life. I think he has a stronger personality without her. The only thing I did not like this episode was the scene where Eric asked sookie if they can make love on the snow bed. I was like seriously…… why. Eric is my favorite character I hate what they are doing to his character. However, I loved their blood exchange scene I like the fact that when he said we shall be one she did not hesitate to drink. Tommy is really trouble can he just die. And lastly, I agree with you Guys on the alcide/Debbie issue you don’t go trying to rescue a girl that your girlfriend does not want you to hang around.
Sookie is the character who most needed a year off of the problems, to process and heal, but it was the ONLY character who has NOT had that time. I think if the writers are concerned with the believable development of his character? or is it just a piece to carry the story forward, a prize to be won? She is much nicer this year, but still does things that make you WTF! I do not know, she needs a real break
The witch battle was thrilling – loved old Eric's, or slave Eric's or who ever Eric's body-part-in-hand wicked wicked laugh!
So true that Alpha hasn't very big boots to piss on.
Blood bonding in the cubby hot!
Eric and Sookie go to Narnia ..meh (but as Alan Ball says we've had our honeymoon now everything goes to hell).
I wonder if the new game on the True Blood set is who can do Tommy best this week and then that person get's a scene.
Good review and recap of episode 8. I am not a fan of the "Big bed in the woods with snow" either. I think Roth and Jenna have a good handle on the characters' journeys. I agree that Bill is terrific this season as a smart, wiley, and compassionate leader. I hope we've seen the end of "little boy Eric" and the big bad*ss is returning imminently. I also think Sookie's arc has been the least plausible this season. If they had made her absence a year in fairy time as well as real time, it would have helped.
Allan Ball is doing a great job on all the characters except for Sookie and anyone she happens to be sleeping with. What is going on?!__ I understand you don't want to create exactly what is in the book – but come on.. a bed in the woods AND it's snowing!?! Oh boy.. let's see what happens next Sunday.
LOL! great review love the soookie sookie bits and the rock bottom pic. Good Job guys you kept me entertained.
At first I wanted Eric to be with Sookie but after a few episodes this season, I want Bill to be with Sookie (she has the same logic as a cookie or a common Snooki, that Sookie
). This season, Bill has so much more depth and he is less annoying than this tabula-rasa Eric.
Second, how could you forget Ms. Fortenberry? Dale Raoul nailed it this season, especially this episode playing both Maxine and Tommy-as-Maxine. Maxine Fortenberry FTW!!
Great review guys. I actually look forward to your reviews as much as I look forward to the next ep of True B
This ep was up and down for me. Once again they put extra cheese on the burger that is Eric and Sookie. I would have been fine with some gratuitous shower sex, instead I get a music video from the 80's thanks Alan.. sheesh. I'm really enjoying Bill this season as his testicles have finally dropped this season. Jessica Hoyt and Jason, BY FAR the most grounded and touching story-line of the season so far, these three actors deserve kudos for how well they are handling these rolls , especially Deborah Ann . Sam … whatever. Tommy still being Tommy . I see death really soon for this idiot. Loving Antonia/Marlene as well .
All in all an okay episode, good but not great. They really need to hurry up and give Eric his memories back so he can start being the effin, Viking god we know and lust for.
Well this is uwith no doubt the best season we've seen till now.I liked the Jessica-Hoyte thing.Sometimes the end of a realtionship is not how you imagine it and sometimes it's bitter.I love the character of the witch Antonia and I also think that Eric and Bill have become much more interesting this season!!
