Watch Roth and Jenna’s review of tommorow’s episode of True Blood “You Smell Like Dinner”. What did you think of the 2nd episode of season 4? Did you like it a lot more than the season premiere? I think most people did.

Great review Ladies!
I gotta say overall I'm enjoying this season of True Blood. It is good to be back in Bon Temps.
First off, I want to address the beginning of Episode 1. I'm not quite sure I understand why they handled the Fairy world stuff the way they did. It was as if it was Episode 1 of Buffy Season 6 and they had to destroy her afterlife in order to resurrect the series. At no point did I ever feel the end of season 3 was a "happily eve-rafter" thing so i don't know why they had such a quick turn-around and souring of that relationship.
I do like the fact that the fairies are essentially another breed of vampires and that we were introduced to Queen Mab.
To address your concerns about Jason's character change, I had the benefit of watching both episodes one after the other and I can't say it seems manufactured. Jason has always had this huge conscious and having to step up and take care of people engendered him with a greater sense of responsibility. With Sookie gone, Jason had to finally grow up.
Eric seemed a bit forced in episode 1 like they were trying to increase the contrast between the old Eric and the new and amnesiac Eric of the end of episode 2.
And finally, I agree with you both, the Light of Day was a nice touch. I just have this feeling we will see Jason's old flame again, possibly with a baby in tow…..
Oh, yes, Crystal is pretty much every sane man's nightmare.
Thank you!
I like bringing in the mythology of Mab, it's always fun to see how different properties imagine established characters. But I am still waiting to see how they develop this Fairy world.
I always love Jason and am looking forward to seeing how these new events at Hot Shot develop. It wasn't that he matured, he just seemed to get A LOT smarter, Jason has really always meant well.
Lol On Crystal
. And I loved the light of day storyline — looking forward to seeing a bit more from it!
Best!

True Blood – Season 4 Episode 2 (You Smell Like Dinner)
I absolutely loved episode 2 better than the premiere. The premiere was just all over the place. I'm really looking forward to what comes next. The only story line that I really hate is hotshot. I just can't stand it.
I agree! I hated the Hotshot storyline in the book as well!!!
Great collaboration between you two, it was a fun review (especially with the bands lol
) and thank god for the second episode. Roth, it was indeed much much better than that disappointing premiere.
I'm also don't care much about that Hotshot storyline, the only goof thing there is Jason.
Still, there are few things that are not clear:
1) What do fairies actually do, what they eat or where they live (a different universe/dimension/world)? We saw magic glowing fruits and people that apparently have a gift like Sookie that don't age but that's it.
2) Every shape-sihfter can turn into a skin-crawler by killing a relative? Can it happen by killing a stranger (and they don't know that they have changed to a skin-crawler because they didn't think of becoming like that stranger)?
I hope it's explained better in the books.
Naked! lol! I’ll be here for the next review. Great review ladies!
Anybody else notice Lafayette is the battery and the others are just the remote? Can't wait till he figures it out.
