Great job on the review, Dennis & J-Ro. It was detailed and funny. The added pictures added a lot, it was a good idea.
Dany is my favourite character but by appearing so calm and in control while her nasty brother is being executed she looked psycho at the end, so I hope she won't turn into a villain. My second favourite character, it's two episodes without Lord Snow, what's up with that?
I'm also missing Lord Snow but I'm guessing he'll be in it a lot in the next episode?

Really appreciate your taking my suggestion to add the pictures — it makes everything so much easier to follow. Keep up the great reviews! And wow…this show is getting REALLY GOOD…
No problem, we did it for the first couple reviews but then I got lazy hahaha. Adding pictures adds another hour to my editing but if people like it then I'll keep doing it.

We love it! It really helps refresh our memories… especially for me because I watch a lot of other shows and by the time your review is out I usually don't remember everything!
Personally I loved this episode! I've been dying to see the dragon die and what a death it was! I'm loving Dinares right now too and how she's really embracing her new life. I was kinda upset that Lady Stark still thinks that Thyrien is responsible… but I'm glad that we could see him use his wit to get out of this one.
I was wondering whether or not anyone else has been following Camelot. It really bothers me that Morgan is playing everyone so easily. The event also came to an end this week and I really think that was one of the best sci-fi / thriller shows I've seen in a while. IMO it was a lot better than Flashforward! What do you think?
We really appreciate the extra effort, Dennis! Any idea when the review for the most recent episode will be up? Looking forward to it! What an ending…
The one who stood for Tyrion was Bronn, he's different from Yoren of the nights watch, though they look similar
Danearys really has come on leaps and bounds. Who would have thought after watching the 1st episode that she would be the "dragon"and a true leader. Great irony that Viserys got exactly what he asked for. I saw it before it happened.
Eddard could never get a job in the U.S diplomatic service could he? LOL . In the first episode Eddard is forced to cut off one of his men's head as he thought he was a deserted. He didn't want to do it but the law demanded it. He is used to that world. If you do "A" then you deserve "B"
But in the King's capital politics trumps justice and, not that he is not smart, but Eddard lacks the nuance to navigate this world as opposedto Baelish (littlefinger). .
Yeah I am kind of surprised considering (*SORRY SPOILERS COMING*) Bronn actually becomes a well used character later on – they really did a shitty job of introducing him.
Decent episode. Great review as always.
It does my heart good to hear that there has been twitter hate on Sansa (I don't twit like the rest of you twits).
I actually always kind of thought Sansa would be much loved or at least wholly understood. She reminds of a great deal of many people I meet every day at work, school, and play.
And as in the first couple books, Tyrion completely steals the show. If there's any stroke of genius in Martin's writing (and yes there is) it's entirely evident in nearly every scene in the books with Tyrion. He became the primary reason I continued reading the books; inside Martin dwells a small man with a large character.
I particularly like the contrast between the political styles of King's Landing and the Dothraki camp/Vaes Dothrak that you talk about. I feel that not only is Eddard out of his depth at King's landing, but that his values are more suited to Dothraki politics.
Hear, Hear!
Seems like something is missing in the assessment of Lord Stark's move on the Mountain. Sure, the throne is in debt to the Lanisters, but remember his line to Jaime Lanister regarding the fact that Robert is king despite the debt. I think the drastic move was deliberate in the sense that Eddard wants to get rid of the politics that gets in the way of justice. When he's calling the shots, justice is swift. Diplomacy be damned.
That said, I really enjoy your format. I'm definitely going back through to watch more of your reviews. You guys are great!
Thanks!
Dennis
Bronn was the guy at the inn that gave up his room to Tyrion right before Lady Stark came in and took Tyrion. The books introduce him better. He's a sellsword that Lady Stark then hires because that area is known for brigands. He also follows along because he finds Tyrion interesting.
Fantastic review as always! I really appreciate the 'noobie' views of Dennis, contrasting with Roth's 'book knowledge' perception. Both are welcomed! Keep up the good work
Thanks, I'm glad you and other people are enjoying the two different perspectives.

Amazing series. Which tends to spawn amazing reviews. The casting for A Game of Thrones has been fabulous-with the exceptin of King Robert's brother, Renly. I hadnt read the books, but the brilliance of the HBO series made me run out and buy the first one. Trying NOT to read ahead.
The series seems to have every veteran British actor in it- some we havent seen on the small screen over here in years.Loving Sean Bean in it- but Ned, noble and steadfast as he is, is an idiot. Even in the tough North, as a great Lord, he must have had to deal with politics. How is he so inept? Threatening Cersei's Dad? Really? A man who was the 'Mad King's' Hand for 17 years? We all groaned at that scene at my house.
And I just want to slap Robert! (Mark Addy is a revelation in the role). And the actor playing Vanearys was so good that, having been dying o see him get his come uppance, I actually felt some pity for him when he got his 'crown'. Momoa is awesome as Kal Drogho- why hasnt he got more lines? Lastly, there's talk of Emmy noms for Peter Dinklage. His Tyrion is threatening to steal the show…
I definitely am rooting for a lot of Emmy noms for this series. Peter Dinklage is definitely going to be a the most likely choice in the acting category. I also would like to see Mark Addy and Lena Heady nominated as well. Even though their characters aren't the ones to root for they play them brilliantly.
Dennis
I agree especially Mark Addy as King Robert when i re-read the book the character almost seem just made for this man and i could not see any one else playing him.
