I thought it was a great episode. For the Lucretia reveal I was like: "Hell ya you twisted viper!"
I just love her character more and more because I find her to be the ultimate player. Her character reminds me of that scene from "The Prestige" when Bale and Jackman are trying to figure out the old chinese magician's secret and Bale says, while watching the old man hobble along: "This right here is the trick. Total devotion to the his art." That the old man was feeble was the daily trick he lived every day.
Lucretia lives this persona every day whilst scheming to make the man she loves more powerful.
In truth I'm glad Mlita died, I was actually getting a little yawny during her scenes with Gannicus. Something about the unfolding of that story just didn't interest me at all.
Overall a great episode and so far I think this prequel has trumped the original series and that bodes well if they choose to go forward with more episodes.
Awesome Review and you were right about the poisoning Ms. Nedopak.
Can't wait to see Tullius get his.
