Loved the recap. Lots of good insights. Agree about what a terrific satire Alan Ball has created with the vampire politics. My favorite moment was when Nan Flanagan ('we're no threat to humans anymore, we drink synthetic blood') was about to sink her fangs into a juicy femoral artery.
Especially liked your point about how Tara's experience in the support group reminds us how victimized Tara was and that Franklin is not deserving of our sympathies. As much as I love the character, I have to disagree about his demise – I LOVED how the guy went out. I loved that Tara got a chance to tell Franklin off and stand up to him and show her rage, and I love that Jason (finally!) got his moment as a hero. He did something decisive and effective and got to put some of his Soldier of the Sun gear to really good use. I'm a fan of the books too, but I love that True Blood can pull surprise moments like this.
Thanks! Yeah I liked those aspects of Franklin s end – but perhaps due to the pause in between when we saw him last and that point – it just felt a little anti-climactic to e – but totally see your point. Thanks for commenting

All The Best!

Awesome double/ longer review, thanks.
LOVED the Nan police, me too I am super Duper SyFy and it just fits perfect the whole scene was a syfy lover come true and we didn’t talk about that Ginger was the one who brought the news, with a David-Lynch going to the dark-side scream. Ginger was back. Something that I start to appreciate after watching so many movies is that some characters, specially the one liners ones, work better in short period of time, the master of that is Almodovar ( I know i would never expected True Blood and Almodovar in the same sentence) but in t Almodovar movies when those wacky actors that we love, have to much time on screen it doesn’t work I don’t know why, so I think Ginger and Franklin are two versions of that statement, and is true he did terrible things to Tara even worst than Maryann which really never harmed Tara and I agreed with “pterion” Tara got her chance/Jason got his chance, it was perfect, no around the bushes. Love everything you said and now I am wondering if Russell would be part of “SPOILER” the Witch-War so if you add Hallow and Russell in that war oh! Boy Hell will break loose.
Bring it on! I hope they do justice when casting Hallow, I wish was Milla Jovovich (I know, sorry I like her a lot ), I don’t get how the best casting director right now the TB one, did that to Claudine, I mean the cast of True Blood is flawless; I will give the benefit of the doubt. Crystal Meth, I actually like her and because I know by the books what she probably is and how she will end, I think she fits the part, lets see. Well is getting to long… so I know everybody loved the Tiffany/Weather line BUT is so easy to pick up that end as the best one, ( I don’t think it was, TB works on cliffhangers, that one was a very long term one) and to close why nobody, only one girl in Twitter has nailed the best line of this E9? Lafayette to Jesus:” I want to know who was the twisted MotherF **ker that ordered a veggie burger with Bacon!” Love the interaction of Sookie-Hadley-Hunter, was really good in my opinion and Sookie with Hunter was so in the moment, a very difficult scene to play and it was great. Thanks JRoth for the double review. Sharing like always
Hey Alf!
Thanks! Oh Ginger does know hoe to scream
LOVE Almodova – LOVE
!
I think you could be right about Russle. Yeah Lafayette always has great lines…mmmm hungry now
Thanks Again!

I love your reviews Roth! One thing I have been thinking about is the connection between Holly and Jesus…Holly says she is a rape survivor, Jesus says his mom was raped. I think they will be connected somehow in a witchcraft kind of way. I kept thinking one of them will end up good and one will end up bad but above someone mentioned Summer could be a witch too…bringing your dolls with you on a date is slightly suspicious…maybe she will be the evil one and Jesus and Holly can both be good. I really like the jesus and Lafayette relationship so I keep hoping it won't end up bad for Lafayette. But in the scene at Lafayette's house Jesus seemed to be looking out the window…like he was afraid someone was out there. Why? And en schizophenic we can't deny that Ruby Mae is perceptive so there is sometihng gong on at that care center and someone at that care center is interested in Lafayette and probably means him no good. I hope Jesus is pursuing him out of true feelings and not because he was sent. This is a good season! Thanks for the wonderful reviews you guys!
Hey Lena! Thanks! I hadn't thought about the connection between Holly and Jesus – but your right!
. Love the Ruby Mae character!
I like that relationship too. But in True Blood – everyone is suspect
Thanks Again!

Roth and Ashley: Great review. Thanks for the entertaining tag team extra long coverage of this awesome episode. Roth, I always love your insightful and entertaining reviews but adding Ashley takes it up a notch – the review becomes more like a conversation and was really fun to watch. There were so many things to cover in this episode and I think you hit all the beats in your review. I really loved “Everything is Broken”. Almost all of season 3 has been completely entertaining and this was one of the top episodes. I love that Allan Ball is bringing home that vampires are dangerous, scary and not to be trusted. I’m glad that he has brought Tara back to the human role of being terrified of vampires and for good reason. Looking forward to more great reviews as the season wraps up.

Hey Ashleys a great looking canadian with nice eyes but i definetly Roth's solo act. LOL
I wasn't into the Franklin killing, to typical and contrived. the episode was better though. I am almost as excited about the politics as you two are now. Totally agree with you about Nan, what a great character!!
thanks
Hey Thanks!

Hey Marc!
Russell stunt does indeed turn all on its head@
Love the relationship between Pam and Eric so vampire to have a parent child relationship between beings that appear the same age.
Of course Nan's a hypocrite – she's a politician
