Great review, Roth! In my opinion, it's been one of the best written episodes of the show to date.
The dialogue between Bill and Lorena was one of the high points of this episode. It felt like the climax of their relationship over hundreds of years. Bill admitting to both Lorena and himself of the things he has done as a vampire. It was great of the writers to reveal part of Lorena's past and implied she might have been in a similar position in her early vampiric years. It almost made me see her in the same tragic light I see Bill. However, as much as I’m starting to love her character I feel that that this is the conclusion of their relationship if you catch my drift. Nonetheless, Kudos to both actors for this wonderful portrayal!!!
As for Sophie Ann, I refuse to believe that Alan Ball would make her simply a plot device. The season isn’t over yet so it would be an interesting back story to see how she became queen in the first place. Clearly she doesn’t have the cunning of either Russel or Eric. However, she obviously has her own plans for Sookie and a deeper knowledge as to what Sookie is.
Loved how Jason showed up to Crystal’s door in his Varsity jacket. Symbolic of a big kid trying to grow up.
It was definitely good to see the smart sassy Tara back. She had to use every resource at her disposal including her body to break free of Franklin and Russell. Now that she knows about the existence of werewolves will she soon discover about Sam being a shifter?
I always look forward to your insightful review, Roth! Almost as much as Sunday nights
Keep up the good work!
Jeff
Thanks so much!
I agree on the dialog in that scene and am definitely intrigued by her past now. Yeah poor Jason. Loved seeing more of season one Tara and would for sure like t see more of her and Sam. Thanks again for your comments and for watching been dealing with a computer virus all week that is making life difficult!
All The Best!

Insightful review, Roth. I love how you dissect an episode. I loved the scenes with Bill and Lorena. We truly gained some insight into who she was before she was a vampire and how her maker changed her personality. I would tryly love to have a flashback showing Lorena before she was turned….and also Pam for that matter.
However please try to post the reviews sooner. This episode was aired on July 25 and you posted this review (at least on Think Hero) on July 29.
Thanks Marc! Well this week was tough because I got back late from comic con and have since then been dealing with a computer virus that has made things real difficult. But will certainly do the best I can to get the reviews in faster. Thanks for watching!

Roth, love your review as always. I’ve been super busy so I haven’t been commenting lately but I’m still watching. This episode was my favorite of the season. I can’t wait to see what you thought of last night’s episode! WOW! I think “I Got The Right To Sing The Blues” is still my favorite but I’m not sure because last night either came in at a close second or topped it. Allan Ball is really bringing it this season.
