Check out me and Roth’s review of the Season 2 premiere episode of Warehouse 13. It’s a show that a lot of sci fi fans like and I’m baffled by it, please let me know why you think this show is so good.

I'd like for you guys to keep at the reviews. I enjoy your takes on this very ridiculous show.
The show, like most shows, needs time to develop its characters. Watch the first episode of Star Trek The Next Generation and you'll see the same type of character problems you're seeing in this show. I think if you give it some time then the character interaction will become more bearable.
The "steam punk" look to the show is helping it I'm sure. I enjoy the look and feel of the items they use as well as the artifacts. Story development may or may not improve, but I'm not nearly as down on it as you are. When you are talking about things that just come to them when they need it, that's how it is for most people. Most people don't randomly think about how to fix plumbing, but when the need arises, if the information is in their brain, it usually comes to the top.
A continuing storyline would be nice, but honestly, unless they can get a multiple season commitment I would rather not be left hanging by a canceled show and questions up in the air. Give me enjoyable week to week if that's all I can get.
You have a good point, comparing this to early TNG, but that is never as inconsistant as Warehouse 13.
why do I like it? umm, well, for one thing I watched the show from the beginning. 2) I don't have a films-grow-on-trees attitude, 3) I don't pretend that I can do better and judge a show because I'm delusional enough to think that my reviews are actually influencial when I have no degrees in said category…..etc etc
I've only seen the pilot, and I actually like it. I'm anxious to see the other episodes. Plus Saul Rubinek is in it!
P.S. I agree with Larry ….
Wow, thanks for the assholish comment.
Dennis
assholish comment?! Why do you think I was talking about you????? Inferiority complex much? If you think the truth includes you, that's not my problem.
Umm did you even read your comment?
"3) I don't pretend that I can do better and judge a show because I'm delusional enough to think that my reviews are actually influencial when I have no degrees in said category"
That's pretty clear cut to me.
And no it's not your problem and it's not mine either.
Dennis
yeah I did read my comment. And no where in my comment do I mention you or anybody else here. I can read. I also read your comment about saying WHY WE LIKE THE SHOW. And I answered. If you didn't want our truthfull answers, why did you ask?
By the by,

I have no problem with saying why you like it but the way you put it was basically attacking us. Let me give you an example in the reverse way. It's like if I said this:
"The reason I don't ike this Warehouse 13, is because I don't feel like my IQ isn't low enough to enjoy the show, I also don't like it because I actually know that people who like it don't know vey much"
Why didn't you say stuff like, "I like the characters, I disagree about the plots, I like the artifiacts"?
And by the by, both me and Roth have film degrees and both have years of experience in production and post production.
- Dennis
well your example is pure reification. And by the way, since you insist on talking about yourself -something which I never started – you keep making this about yourself……which shows low self-esteem. Also, YOU were the one that said you never watched the show, and that you started "watching it from the 1st episode of the second season". Since that is how you judge new shows, or ANY show/film for that matter, then you should ask for a return on the money you gave to get your film degree.
And, for someone who claims to have said degree, your syntax is utterly horrifiing.
I've been a theatrical/film actor/concert pianist since before you were a person; not once did I say that I am worthy of being a pundit, or that I know better (which I do, of course) in order to get into a pissing contest, until you reacted like you were a 6 year old. In which case you forced my hand.
One thing you need to learn (something which is unfortunately quite common for those in North America) is to stop REACTING!, and to listen to something: without bias/criticism, to process it, and to file it away. Something which you have NOT done so far! Instead you resorted to accusing me of abhorrent behavior because my comments triggered insecurities in yourself!
And you say -I- made "assholish" coments?!?!
First of all we've seen every episode since season 1, we have reviews of every episode from season 1 on YouTube. I don't know if you misheard something in the video that wasn't there.
You also have yet to stand behind your comments, you keep saying you're not insulting us but continue to do so. Anyone who reads your comments and sees your not so subtle link to a YouTube video can tell you are clearly making reference to what you believe is a lack knowledge on our part. Yet you continue to hide under the guise of "you are insecure", when clearly you are trying to belittle us.
On top of this, you bring your prejudiced against North Americans into this? Stop with your condescending and arrogant tone and look in the mirror.
- Dennis
that's not what your tweets said. And you state even MORE reification without taking responsibility or apologizing for your initial accusations!!
(Subtle has nothing to do with it. I was making a point about your and other so called critics behavior. If you had asked, without throwing a tantrum, all this could have been avoided)
AGAIN with the REACTING!! Is there something wrong with you??
Any one who reads my comments will see that I'm using logic, not reification, like you continuously do to defend your denial.
I'm not hiding from anything. YOU are the one who started insulting me from the beginning without justifiction, and all the while behind this i-didn't-do-anything-wrong-you are-delusional behavior.
You REALLY love twisting someones words and weaseling your way out of an argument that you don't like, don't you?? PROVE to me where exactly I said something against you; or Roth for that matter. Show me!!! I'd REALLY love to see how you are going to try and defend your delusional behavior and try to avoid taking responsibilty for your denial……
If you want people to respect you, attacking their first comment without provocation is not the way to go. And you have much to learn about debating.
P.S. you asked "tells us why you like the show". I posted "why do I like it?" to which I proceeded to make a detailed point about how I go about deciding whether or not I like what I'm watching. A point, mind you, which had nothing to do with you. To which you replied, "Wow, thanks for the assholish comment. " Way to go with the enlightening rebuttle Mr. Pauline Kael.
If any LOGICAL person had read your initial comment they would have inferred the exact same thing. The fact that you can not see that means you either lack logic or you are so stubborn that you don't want to admit it.
Again, what has your answer have to do with liking the show? You do not touch upon any of the elements of the show nor your personal preference for it's comedy, characters, plot or other aspects.
I think you have general lack of self awareness which is quite frightening.
Also you probably mixed up reading the tweets with my comments about the Avatar: The Last Airbender cartoon series which I had only seen a couple episodes before seeing the movie because I never said I'd only had seen the season 2 premiere of Warehouse 13.
- Dennis
See? you just proved my point about you being in denial. You resort to slippery slope, and straw man tactics, because you can't accept your behavior; 'like my other replies to you are a result of my initial comments', which were NOT specific. For example, "belittle me" by taking half a sentence, '"you are insecure"' out of context in order to support your reification of "you keep saying you're not insulting us but continue to do so." Yet conviently avoiding the fact that I never insulted, and that that reaction comes from insecurity.
Furthor more, you avoided showing proof of anything and continue to insult the intelligence of one of your viewers by considering only the extremes of a situation, which are obviously out of whatever fantasy you are working.
To continue, your inconsistency would break even Dalai Lama's patients. For example, when you said "You do not touch upon any of the elements of the show nor your personal preference for it's comedy, characters, plot or other aspects," you use observational selection in order to make yourself seem correct. You conveniently leave out the fact that your first 'inelligent' reply to me, gave birth to this whole fucking post; you never once asked, as I have to say AGAIN (what a surprise!), what I was getting at, without throwing a tantrum, ……
Third, you consistently use fallacies of exclusive premise in order to avoid the reasoning behind your first reply.
You even use appeals to ridicule in order to avoid your inadequacies at formulating a logical argument!!!!
I'm astounded that you are so blind that you can't see your continuous mistakes. Then again I'm not. Very few North American citizens (and other people on this failing planet) are really good at debating logically without throwing tantrums at the first sign of something that does not agree with their blind-folder views.
The fact you continue to use your prejudiced remarks in your response to my questions shows you dont' actually want to listen to what I'm saying. I'm not using any "straw man tactics", just trying to explain the situation which you clearly do not understand.
Apparently the term inference is completely lost on you. It takes me to the conclusion that you are so deluded that you can't admit to yourself your actual intentions or meaning in the initial post (which becomes even more apparent through the continuous posts).
Dennis
Twisting one of my statements in order to justify your appaling appeal to consequence isn't wise. You are only embarassing yourself.
I'm sorry that you are so in denial. AGAIN, your fallacies betray you. Just by your apparant lack of logical response to the fact that I have continuously shot down your rediculous nonsensical fallacies, is really sad.
Your continuous use of fallacies of a single cause, would make even Enron execs blush.
I hope for your sake you wake up and understand the damage your denial is doing.
Actually, the only one embarassing themselves is you.
You have yet to answer any of my questions and continue spouting out anti-North American comments along with your nonsensical arguments.
Seeing as other people on Twitter have ignored some of your inane and racist tweets, I wish I had done the same.
Dennis
No no no. Don't you dare turn that around on me.
And whats your problem with my comments about N.A.? I really don't give a shit about your politically correct, government leg-humping, beliefs. It's your funeral.
And how exactly am I being racist?? Where's your proof? Where? Exactly. You have none. Or are you going to try and emotionally attack me (since you don't have any proof and refuse to explain your initial behavior) again, because you don't like what someone is saying about a few bullshit contries [this time]….?
Using exclusive premise fallacies, or any fallacy for that matter, to try and continuously solidify your empty points, only amounts to nothing.
I don't care why you did it, but apologize for your initial accusation, or get the fuck off.
and your continuous appeal to spite is truly despicable.
I agree the cast of Warehouse 13 is strong… but I relate them to the cast of Bones without the soul. They all turn in fine performances, but I have liked most of the actors in other roles better. I like the steam punk look of the show, it helps add the warehouse as another character bringing it to life.
I want to like this show more than I do too, and hopefully SyFy give it the time it needs to find it's stride. Warehouse 13 is no Eureka.
Feel like the steampunk look has really helped with people liking the show despite its flaws.
