As the new season of True Blood approaches on June 13, HBO has been releasing many teaser posters and short behind the scenes clip but here is the official cast poster for season 3 featuring the usual suspects and none of the new characters (perhaps none will last past this season?)

It would be surprising if Alcide didn't last beyond this new season. I'm guessing he'll be back for future seasons.
Maybe they didn't include any of the new characters in the poster because they don't want to give away any details about which new characters will be important and which ones won't.
The new characters are there. They are in their were shapes. I see a wolf, a freaking big snake and some racoon like thing…
I noticed the huge snake but completely missed the wolf in the back. I understand why the wolf is there, but what's the deal with the snake? I don't remember it from the books or from the previous two seasons. Is it a new thing Alan Ball added to the story for this season or was it in the books or in previous episodes and I'm just forgetting it?
Dennis, I agree with you about the quality of the shows deteriorating when every character has powers or special abilities. Heroes started off great and then went downhill when they decided they had to expand the cast of characters with special abilities. With True Blood, they risk running into the same problem. A lot of the characters in the books end up being supernatural in one way or another.
Ok, cool I didn't notice those. To be honest I don't like when shows have too many characters with "powers", it makes the world less interesting. Same thing happened in Heroes and Smallville, once everyone becomes "special" the less meaning it has in the world.

I guess I misesd the creatures in the poster (see below's comment)
