Here’s the trailer for Knight and Day, an action movie starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz.  I first saw this right before seeing Avatar, and I hadn’t really heard or seen much about it before.  I actually thought the trailer looked interesting and could be a lot of fun.

    This looks . . . . dumb.

    Of course, I'm also the guy who didn't like Shoot'em Up because I felt like the over the top was diminished by the unparalleled stupidity.

    This appears to be Cruise's attempt at something similar.

    Even from just watching the trailer it looks to me like this film had Cruise on "phone it in" mode.

    I actually really liked Shoot'em Up, and enjoyed the over the top nature. I also met the writer/director and he was a nice guy. He's probably having a hard time finding a 2nd gig though since it didn't do that well financially.
