Finally, the Iron Man 2 trailer has arrived and it’s pretty damn cool. It’s similar to the one that I saw at Comic Con this year but a few scenes are changed or cut out and swapped with newer scenes. I’m excited for this sequel as I much enjoyed the first, however I’m being a little cautious with my anticipation. I’m concerned with Iron Man 2 turning into a “Spider Man 3″ debacle, where there are too many characters which leads to a messy story and lack of focus. Hopefully I’m wrong about it and it delivers on what the first one did, which is entertaining fun with exciting action and characters that seemed interesting.
What do you think of this trailer?

After watching the trailer I have the exact same concern. Too many characters.
Ultimately that's what I hated about the early Batman fliks. Too many villains. Too much to tell in a 120 minutes.
Yeah, Spider Man 3, Batman Returns, X-Men Last Stand, Wolverine, etc. the list goes on and on for movies that try to pack too much in just for the sake of doing it.

I am so excited that I can't stand it! I don't see where the too many characters thing is coming from. Just looks awesome!! B)
The first was one of the best comic book movies ever. I enjoyed it even more then the The Dark Knight. Hopefully, this will live up to Iron Man, because it sure is easy to ruin a film w/ to many characters for the sake of action figures.
Yeah, greed usually ruins things. Trying to milk merchandising money and then ruining the movie is something I hate. It's so short-sighted.

It seems like they're all working with each other toward common goals, etc. Spiderman had too many disparate elements with Venom coming in for no reason to say "Hey, let's team up!"

Looks amazing to me. I'll be there opening night!
Yes, I'll be at the midnight showing for sure. Hope its as good as or better than the first one.

I wasn't too sure about this until I saw the trailer and it's got frikkin Gary Shandling! I'm there.
I haven't seen him in anything for awhile. Last thing was when I was watching old Dinner for Five episodes that he was in.

That last sequence with Stark and Rhodes in their suits fighting off what looked like robots looked to be something right out the Iron Man Armor Wars story arc. I know Favreau and the writers decided against making the sequel take on too much of the 'Demon in a Bottle' arc but I hope they at least plant some of the seeds of it in this sequel.
I hope that Whiplash is a better villain than Jeff Bridges was. While I liked Bridges performance as the corporate traitor, I didn't like how he went into the suit at the end and fought Iron Man, didn't seem realistic or in tune with his character.
Dennis
Yeah, Stane going from evil corporate exec to supervillain Ironmonger didn't transition well. They gave little hints that he was evil beyond corporate greed with him being a Ten Rings member, but not enough for the casual filmgoer to pick up on.
I think Whiplash will be supervillain from the onset and the evil corporate side being taken up by Sam Rockwell's Justin Hammer character.
I'm a big fan of Sam Rockwell, so will be looking forward to him as Justin Hammer. Also Whiplash looks to be like the type of villain the first one should of had.

Wow, this trailer looks pretty great. If the movie lives up to the hype, this sequel will blow the first out of the water. I can't wait!
