as for the one off episodes, i agree that it brings nothing to the show. However, i remember way back when, there was a little known show called star trek next generation…all I wanted to see was a series of 5-10 episodes in a row with nothing but Q, the borg, and picard. I think i would have lost interest if that did happen so it was a good thing that they did a lot of one off shows.
Yeah I really liked Star Trek TNG as well. For some reason I think stand alone format worked with that show a lot better. Though my favorite episodes were always 2 parters that featured Q, the Borg, or some sort of time travel.
I loved this episode, so much happened I had to watch it twice just to register it all. It never occurred to me that something "made" Walter crazy, I just assumed he was always a little off (like most college professors) and he eventually imploded upon his own brilliance (ala A Beautiful Mind). But I'm like you guys, that 15 or so seconds of the "real" Walter was so eye opening. I wonder…what about the Walter in the other Universe? Where is he, and wouldn't he try to get his son back? He is even alive?
One question I had was how did Bell get to the other Universe? Did you use Walter's door before he hid the plans? Did he make his own? Also why would he want to be there is this "blight" is killing everything.
I assume Bell used Walter's plans to build himself his own door to get to the other side, but that's just my theory. I'm also wondering about the "blight" as well since William Bell's scene with Olivia didn't seem to be affected by it.
Well we don't know which universe Bell is in, other than that it isn't our universe where Walter, Peter and Olivia are. In theory there are infinite universes so why assume the “enemies” are from the same one Bell is hiding in? Isn’t it likely that the Observers are from yet another universe as well? I know the characters keep acting like and saying there are only two but that doesn’t make sense so I’m thinking that is misinformation and we’ll eventually see far more than two sides to the ‘war’.

So many questions….
