I normally am not crazy about the stand alone episode either but I forgave "Snakehead" because I really enjoyed the furthering of Walter's character and his relationship with Peter. It would have been nice had they tied it in just a little bit with the overall story arc though.

I also agree with them trying to make Peter all James Bondy. He's a very interesting character without all his skills that show up out of no where. It's getting to be predictable that the bad guy to going to get away from Olivia and Peter is going to chase him and either catch him or get kid napped…

Also they were really guilty of pulling weird skills out of no where for Astrid (though mostly in the first season). First she was could crack codes and new strange languages then she new all about computers? Really? Lately they have done a better job with Astrid's character and I hope they continue to do so because I feel like she is underdeveloped considering her screen time.

Yeah, it seems that when they need to solve a problem within the context of the plot and they don't have anything planned they just use Peter, Astrid, or Massive Dynamic to come up with a solution to further along the plot.
