Ashley Edward Miller and Zack Stentz are set to pen adaptation of the graphic novel, Damn Nation. Written by Andrew Cosby, creator of SyFy’s Eureka, the story is set in London after an attack from “inhuman nocturnal predators” forces an evacuation of the U.S.  The comic tells the tale of the survivors after the government has been forced to relocate to London while scientists search for a solution.

I read this comic a few years back. While it was interesting, it was certainly nothing new. Part of the graphic novels plot has a child at the center who may or may not be the cure to the virus, but the most interesting development in the graphic novel happens in the last issue. This is one of those times when I’m not defiant about how accurate the adaptation is. The nature of the graphic novel is very loose and open-ended, so there is absolutely a chance to take the story somewhere new.

Miller and Stentz wrote Kenneth Branagh’s upcoming Thor, as well as episodes of Terminator: Sarah Conner Chronicles. They are currently writing for Fringe, and wrote one of the most solid episodes this year.

I actually own the mini-series when it first came out and while reading it I felt like it could be adapted into film or, better yet, as a mini-series. It definitely has a 28 Days Later/28 Weeks Later feel to it.
