The 2nd trailer for the Clash Of The Titans remake movie has been released, it features new footage, more visual FX, and the first look of the giant Kraken creature at the end.  For some reason despite all the remakes/reboots going on that I don’t really care for, this is one I’m actually looking forward to.  I think it’s because modern visual FX will bring something different to the original one (which was stop motion). Watch it and let me know what you think.

Gee. This looks interesting. Is it just me, or does the Kraken look a little like the Cloverfield monster?

  2. ThinkHero Says:

Yeah, it does look a bit like the Cloverfield monster. The mouth especially, perhaps same creature designer?

  3. Fuelbot Says:

A little, but the Cloverfield monster had no tentacles and, I mean if you really look at it, a hideous impractical design. The Kraken looks more like Cthulu or one of the Old Ones from HP Lovecraft's stories. Cloverfield was thought to be a Cthulu remake at one point.

Ahh! >:D I'm so excited for this movie, I loved the first Clash of the Titans movie.
Still sticking with the 'Bird and the Worm' song too.. Interesting. <.< At first I didn't like that they used that music, but it kinda grew on me. And FINALLY a shot of Ralph Fiennes as Hades!! Such a good choice. Him and Liam Neeson = epic. It solidifies its epicness. Hope it actually turns out good.

And.. I'm really crushing on Sam Worthington. <.<;; He's getting some sick roles.

  5. ThinkHero Says:

I actually liked Worthington's performance in Terminator Salvation. His character along with Kyle Reese were the only two performances I believed in from the whole movie. I'm looking forward to seeing him in Avatar and Clash of The Titans.

  6. ThinkHero Says:

Worthington did come out of nowhere, now he's starred in 3 high profile big budget movies in just a year's time. Though Terminator Salvation was a bust, Avatar looks fantastic, and Clash Of The Titans looks interesting.

  7. Fuelbot Says:

For me, his performance was destroyed by the horrible horrible dialogue. But you're right, he did hold his own. The film should've axed the John Connor storyline completely and followed Reese and Marcus. Much better film, and the ending would've actually paid off.

He's the closest thing we have to a new action star. Well, since Jeremy Statham anyway. (I did NOT see that coming). Remember when everyone thought Vin Diesel would be the next big action star?

I think you're looking forward to it, because of all the remakes and reboots this is a film that actually warrants one. While the original is regarded as classic, I believe that was more the stop-motion techniques than the actual film. The whole point of a remake, to me anyway, is to make something that wasn't very good better. Hollywood seems to have interpreted that as "remake every classic movie and kill the soul that made them great."

I also like Louis Letterier as a director, and I think we can all chalk up Worthington's shitty performance in Terminator: Salvation as a fluke. Seems the guy really does have acting chops.

    Few movies get me excited.

300 was probably the last movie I was excited for. . . and thatcertainly did not disappoint.

    I am excited for this.

And Jason Statham does make an excellent action star, but I also think he's just an all around great modern actor. I mean sure, he's never going to be a great dramatic actor, but he's got a great deal of on screen charisma. I personally never thought Vin was going to be the next action star, he lacks that charm, and he really only has one character he can play. I mean really, did anyone really not think that his character in Fast and the Furious was just Riddick driving cars?

I saw the original when it was released and it is one of my favorite 80's films. When I heard the y were remaking it my stomach turned over. Now seeing this 2nd trailer I can say that I am honestly impressed with what I've seen so far. Medusa slithering fast on the floor has me stoked!!

  12. mariatortilla1 Says:

The effects look really good and I like the stars in it but I will be really disappointed if Bubo isnt represented :D ! It looks interesting and will probably get me to go to the theater to see it. Hamlin kinda freaked me out in the first one so we will see :)

  13. Arleigh Says:

I think Worthington will have a career with legs if he doesn't try to go too far-off the type of films he's best at and those are action films. I mean everyone were excited after seeing The Rock in Berg's "the Rundown". There was even a cute throwaway cameo of Schwarzenegger passing the baton to him, but he's been stuck doing Disneyfied family action comedies or just comedies.

I know there's still talk of another Conan film and I wouldn't object to seeing take on the mantle of the Cimmerian. Will probably be a good idea since the original Howard 'Conan' as written was never overly muscle-bound.

  14. Arleigh Says:

I wonder if Poseidon will actually have some lines in this remake. In the original film we just saw him underwater…doing nothing.

*pelvic thrusts* yes, i am that excited for this. :p
