The Lizard Out? Vulture and Vulturess In For ‘Spider-Man 4′?

The rumor mill is going strong at the moment and this is the big rumor of the moment, according to Movieline. Anne Hathaway is currently the top choice to play Felicia Hardy in Spider-Man 4, but not to play Hardy’s alter-ego Black Cat. Hardy will instead play the daughter of The Vulture, who is able to fly through the air and brandish his sharp wings as weapons. She will become The Vulturess. The source also claims that the studio is circling John Malkovich for the role of The Vulture, who also takes over as the new head of the Daily Bugle.
I’m not as purist with the Spider-Man comics as most people are, but doesn’t this sound kind of boring? Dylan Baker made his debut in the second installment as Dr. Curt Conners who, because of an unfortunate accident, lost one of his arms. In an obsessive quest to regenerate his arm, an experiment involving reptilian DNA successfully worked with the side effect of turning him into a reptilian monster. It seems as if they movies have been building his relationship with Peter Parker for just that purpose. As for why we won’t see The Lizard, it seems that simply enough “the suits can’t bring themselves to sign off on such an odd-looking enemy.”
I mean, which movies sounds better to you — an aerial battle with people in bird costumes (which we’ve already seen, courtesy of both Goblins) or a story that takes Spiderman out of his element? Am I crazy? Then again, I’m hoping this is all just a rumor.

The lizard has always been a cool enemy. And not just for those with a thing for reptiles. I mean, think about it, Conners is one of Parkers mentors, and friends, so there's already that challenge of trying to stop a friend who can't help themselves, andit could be extra hard for Parker because, even though '3' had some issues, The events of that movie would make it even harder to take on a friend as he would have to do in this one. As opposed to; "Hey, your my new boss, what's that you say? You like to put on a bird costume and fly around with your daughter? Hmm, well whatever floats your boat, but if you steal anything, I'm gonna have to whup you're butt."

The Lizard would be a much better villain, and like you said with Connors being Peter's mentor, it would make the tension and drama much more interesting.

yeap but seems Sam Raimmi has another agenda and against all logic and feelings from Spidermanic fans dismiss fantastic enemies and bring to us others from who know where…. I like spiderman because I grew up reading the comic book, but now the movie… well, pervert history is increasingly
