Empire has just premiered another badass Iron Man 2 poster. I can honestly say this is the one film franchise in the hands of the absolute right people. It seems that more than Marvel Studios or Kevin Feige, this film is really the brain-trust of Jon Favreau and Robert Downey Jr. The character is obviously shaped around Downey’s personality, but it was reported this year that he also had a hand in the development of the script. This reminds me of the DVD extras of Downey and Jeff Bridges figuring out the logistics of a scene. The first film was basically made without a script yet still became the first summer blockbuster, and most well-received movies that year, superhero or otherwise.

The footage from Comic-Con, even in it’s grainy YouTube incarnation, looked pretty damn slick. With a cast boasting Sam Rockwell, Mickey Rourke, Don Cheadle, Scarlett Johannson, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Samuel L. Jackson hovering somewhere in the background I think we might be getting some more of these one-sheets soon. It all seems like the ramp up to a teaser of some sort, right? Hm, I really wonder which movie they might attach this to.
