The first official still from DC/Vertigo’s upcoming adaptation of Jonah Hex has gone live. It seems more like a poster than any kind of official still, but it’s awesome nonetheless. I’ve actually read the comic and while I absolutely abhor westerns, I found Hex’s story thoroughly engaging. Josh Brolin is doing his best work in years, and Megan Fox, who proved with this year’s Jennifer’s Body that she’s actually not insanely attractive, is incredibly underrated as an actress.
For anyone unfamiliar with the comic, Jonah Hex (Josh Brolin) is a scarred drifter and bounty hunter of last resort, a tough and stoic gunslinger who can track down anyone…and anything. Having survived death, Jonah’s violent history is steeped in myth and legend, and has left him with one foot in the natural world and one on the “other side.” His only human connection is with Leila (Megan Fox), whose life in a brothel has left her with scars of her own. But Jonah’s past is about to catch up with him when the U.S. military makes him an offer he can’t refuse: in exchange for his freedom from the warrants on his head, he must track down and stop the dangerous terrorist Quentin Turnbull (John Malkovich). But Turnbull, who is gathering an army and preparing to unleash Hell, is also Jonah’s oldest enemy and will stop at nothing until Jonah is dead.
Jimmy Hayward was an animator at Pixar before making his directorial debut with Horton Hears A Who! Stepping into the live-action realm is never easy, especially with a background as “soft” as Hayward’s but the shots I’ve seen from this film look spot on. Hopefully, we’ll see some footage soon. What do you think?

I need to read the comics I heard that they're really good.
I never read the originals, but when they rebooted the series I started them and thought they were awesome. They're usually four or five issue arcs, but always worth it.

I'll have to see some clips before I can really judge this movie. I do like Josh Brolin and while I do very much enjoy looking at Megan Fox I have never been impressed by her (but I haven't seen Jennifer's Body and acting in a Micheal Bay movie is rather difficult).
I thought she handled herself very well in Jennifer's Body. Then again, Michael Bay's movies make everything look like Shakespeare in comparison.
Brian
I agree with Brian about Megan Fox, she did a decently good job in Jennifer's Body, and most of the hate for her has come from the Transformers movies, which you can't really judge her for.
