I enjoyed the episode but there were SO many things that bothered me mostly continuity wise. But I guess I'm just going enjoy the show for what it is. I'm definitely not as into it as I was before this episode but I still like it.

Totally agree with you!! Could you imagine our government, or any other, allowing a huge space craft to hover over our cities without question?? But are they are attempting at creating a "dont know whats going on" feeling in both the characters and the audience in order to make the V plan seem more calculated and have us question whats the meaning behind this? But i definitely think the show has awed us on the surface only to then leave us unsatisfied with the explanations. Maybe the next re-make will be better:)

Too much too soon - I too am having real problems with this oh aliens have arrived and it's just another day, They in no way aside from more church goers convey the paradigm shift of this. People just clap after the initial ET communication. Way too much suspension of belief that we'd have them setting up "healing centres" and giving us injections in a few weeks. Where's the government? Have we even seen a politician or has it just been a bunch of FBI agents running around? They missed a real important storyline in showing us how the government is reacting. If this is happening on planet earth, they need to give me some kind of recognizable behavior to relate to. Unless the writers work into the plot they have been spiking our water for the last 20 years too, they need to spend more time showing us more relatable responses.

The instant A-Team, as you put it, having a chuckle after Georgie is shot and blowing up a warehouse then sauntering off like just another day at the office, yes, made the characters completely scooby doo!. This is becoming cartoon. Writers are taking way too many short cuts here. I am sorry to be harsh, this hurts me more than anyone, who after the end of TSCC and BSG is dying for some decent sci fi to hook my imagination into. I too loved the original and feel if anything sci fi fans are even more sophisticated now in what we expect from sci fi on screen.

No more short cuts please. Writers need to develop the story and the characters not just drop it on our heads.

That's a good theory and the story of the 5th column and Anna are my favorite parts of the show - I also like the Chad Decker character and his dynamic with Anna.

Thanks again for commenting good to hear your thoughts!

I guess for me a re imagining is more like what BSG did - take the same premise and completely rework it for today's audience. Whereas a strait reboot is when you just basically do the same thing over again, yeah there may be some slight differences but not enough to really count (like Friday the 13th) that's my interpretation obviously. And I could be wrong.

The priest is definitely Special Forces or the like and became a priest after something bad happened. That's a pretty common character type, the repentant hero.
As for social commentary, I can't say for sure, but the acceptance of the V's so easily without question could be one. Rather than saving ourselves, the humans in this series seem to be willing to trust an alien race rather than their own. Maybe it is a veiled commentary on our own increasingly self-loathing 'we are killing the world' attitude.
The Tyler storyline is a mystery. The baby has moved from that storyline, or the importance of said interspecies child has been increased due to the fact that Anna is trying to produce one. But then again, with all the hi-tech medical equipment they have, an interspecies child could easily be whipped up in the lab.
Overall, I am enjoying this new V and I am ready to see more.

ive been chatting to the owner of the v files & he is believing that the priest jack was actually military maybe special forces which is why he can treat bullet wounds & got sick of the killing so turned to god which explains the gun & flag etc but also why he can actually fight as we have seen.i think he's got it down.lol he even has a theory on john may.georgie.why?allow me to copy & paste.

" John May has been on Earth for years.. Georgie knows ALOT about the V's.. His family was killed years ago by them, before they invaded.. John May is head of the Fifth Column, so maybe, and this is just a theory, maybe he was found out being the head of the Fifth Column on the Homeworld and the V's slaughtered his family as a lesson, but never caught him, as he escaped and headed to Earth, where a guy named Georgie created the human skin cloning, where John may disguised himself in human form.. Or did he create the skin himself.."

lol another good theory.
