Here’s a really cool new Avatar featurette that shows off the human technology side of the movie and how they function within the context of the story.  There’s some new footage in this behind the scenes segement and it looks pretty spectacular.  Despite the negative hate that some people have spreading about this movie, I’m looking forward to it and expect it to deliver visually and in the action (storywise that’s something I’ll have to wait and see).

"Good old fashioned chemical powered weapons that throw a lot of brass and make a lot of noise."

Got to say, I like that. I remember on an episode of Deep Space 9 they had to rescue some of there people from the bad guys but the plannet they were on had some kind of energy field that drained the battery of there phasers. So they decide to learn how to sword fight. All through that episode I kept thinking 'why didn't they just use guns'. Apparently the bad guys had come to the same conclusion and there were a bunch of sword fights in the episode but they would have been flattened if they had just pulled out a MP5 or a Thompson or something.

Anyway, I am really looking forward to seeing this. I guess I have been since the first trailer. But it looks pretty awesome.

There has been a lot of negative buzz about the movie since the first trailer came out, probably because of unrealistic expectations. But hopefully with these new tv spots, featurettes, etc the more people are going to start getting excited again.
