Wow. It’s really here. Like, really really here. Years of dense mythology and rabid speculation are finally over. We’re FINALLY getting answers. I happen to have a Lost tattoo (the Dharma Swan) and people have been asking how I would feel if the show let me down, if the answers weren’t what I had hoped. I told them it wouldn’t matter, because it was the experience of the show that stays with me. Like it or not, there is nothing else like it on television. It was a game the producers were playing with their audience and I relished every moment of it.

Carlton Cuse tweeted earlier that Lost’s final season would premiere  February 2, 2010 in a sort of “Lost Night”. The two-hour season premiere airs after a one hour recap of the show’s history. The show will then air it’s new time-slot on Tuesdays at 9pm ET.  Cuse also let it slip that Rebecca Mader would be returning to play Faraday’s doomed sophmore love, Charlotte Lewis. It also appears that ABC is considering letting the show play out as planned, without any repeat episodes which would run it against NBC’s coverage of the Vancouver Winter Olympics and come to a close just as sweeps ends. Nestor Carbonell’s Richard Alpert, Ken Leung’s Miles, Jeff Fahey’s Frank Lapidus and Zuleikha Robinson’s Ilana have all been upgraded to series regular status,  Emilie de Ravin returns full-time as Claire, and while Henry Ian Cusick’s Desmond is not listed as a regular, he’ll appear as a recurring character. Which is hopeful, because I kind of like Desmond and I’d like him to not get killed.

Eighteen hours to wrap up five years of mythology. Are you excited for the final season?

I've never watched an episode of Lost but am planning on watching all episodes before February. Does that sound like an impossible task?
