I don't believe you played this game OR Fallout 3 you unbelievably ignorant shame to female gamers everywhere. Your review is neither informative or witty – and your unconvincing delivery was better suited to an 8th grade cafeteria gossip session.
For starters – it's a Co-op game. It's assumed you have friends you can play with. It's those friends your character is asking to "cover you".
There is one playable female character in Borderlands – this is true. It's a videogame, not a women's lib movement. I certainly can't speak for the rest of the women in the world, but I can't say that I find a lot of solidarity in having my "girl power" defended by someone who has to market themselves as "your game tease". I think we can all agree that you didn't really get this job because of your L337 gamer skillz, and certainly not for your ability to form intelligent sentences.
Your review had a multitude of other flaws, but I'm just going to go ahead and stop there, as I've already failed at being polite.
PS. the Road Warrior and Beyond Thunderdome are two different movies. Get back in the kitchen.
stop being so negative just cuz youre not pretty enough to be on camera and talk about video games
shes stunning and clearly knows more about video games than you do so take your insecurities elsewhere
and who are you to question her integrity? im sure shes played the games– ive played both extensively and agree with her completely on all subjects
Were you asleep during this read? It seemed like you hadn't read the script until the camera started rolling. Such low energy it made watching the review painful. The problem I see here is that no one knows who the fuck you are so no one knows why anyone should give a fuck about your opinion.
And yes, The Road Warrior and Beyond Thunderdome are two different films in the Mad Max universe. You really should let someone edit your scripts before you shoot your reviews. Maybe you'll sound a little more like a credible reviewer and a little less like Corky from "Life Goes On"
Oh wow.
Was she aware that borderlands has been in development since 07?
So… after suffering through that… I can't help but think of GameTrailers.com. On GameTrailers.com, they do a great job of reviewing games, there is energy and excitement and great footage from the game. On here… you "review games"… you "act" with no energy or enthusiasm (even if you don't like something… you need energy)… and the footage is… well, there's footage…
All in all, if two entered and one leaves… GameTrailers.com would KICK YOUR ASS.
That said: I feel you need to pay attention to some of the professionals and listen to their pacing and flow as they read a script. Stop trying to "act." I know when I hate a game, I HATE A GAME, and my friends know it. I don't sound like I'm reading someone else's script. I'm legitimately hating what I'm playing — Halo: ODST…
Here's my breakdown:: I think 20% of the problem is the game footage has nothing to do with what you're talking about, it's just random clips from gameplay. (when you mention glitches… maybe have an actual clip of it if it's so common). When you talk about the dialogue, you can have a clip of that (even with no audio as there are captions on this game).
10% is the slow pacing of your dialogue cut with the fast shots of gameplay. It seems disjointed.
5% is the lack of exciting music to get me excited about what you're talking about. It could make up for some of your lack of energy.
5% is the script, no one edited it and reviewed it before letting you read it… for what I assume was the first time in front of a camera.
60% is you don't seem to have any first hand knowledge about the things you are saying. It doesn't feel like you've played either game, despite your love of one and hatred of another. I'd say you've logged a maximum of 5 hours on each of these 40hour games.
Just my two cents.
Hey Jacque,
I think you’re fantastic. You do a great job! You’re informative, and fun. On the limited budget, I’m sure you have, you guys do an amazing job and should be proud.
As for the rest of you… you should be ashamed. You honestly should. It’s so easy to hide behind the anonymity the internet offers. You just don’t treat people like that. Jacque seems like a delightful person and it’s blatantly obvious you have a personal vendetta against her. You’ve only commented on her videos and did so at the same time. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out what you guys are up too. I suggest you grow up, or at the VERY LEAST, have the courage to leave your real name at the end of your posts. But you won’t because you’re cowards.
Jacque says, “Road Warrior Films”. Max is the Road Warrior, he’s in all three, and therefore, they are “Road Warrior Films”. Another instance in which one of you displays complete ignorance is when TEAM P says, “The game assumes you have friends you can play with.” Jacque was playing alone; the computer treated her character as if someone else was there. Is that not a glitch? You guys are really reaching, here.
I don’t always agree with Jacque’s opinions, but in my experience, I’ve found her to be mostly right. Either way, I don’t think she’s computer generated so that makes her a real person and your posts are no way to treat anyone.
Anyway, I love video games and some honest conversation would be great, but please, don’t come back if this is what you guys are all about. Life’s too short to be this bitter, just move on.
Jacque, keep up the good work.
Just my two cents
–Sorry i had to split this up. It was a little too long.

Great Job Jacque! Don't listen to the "Haters". I agree with you about this game. It just seems like a rip off but it’s going to be hard to top Fallout 3. That game rocked!
You're Posts are awesome. It's nice to see a girl giving reviews for a change. We need more female friendly games that kick ass. I'd like to pick from something other than one single girl character for a change. Hopefully the designers will hear our cries and make some changes.
Can't wait for the next one!

"I suggest you grow up, or at the VERY LEAST, have the courage to leave your real name at the end of your posts. But you won’t because you’re cowards."
All aboard the hypocrite boat.
"Hopefully the designers will hear our cries and make some changes. "
They made Borderlands about loot whoring, and you compared it to Fallout 3. I think you might have missed the part where the games are two totally different designs. In FO3 you sit in VATS 90% of the time, in bro-lands you are playing a shooter. Maybe Bethesda will makes a sequel of Oblivion- oh wait, that was Fallout 3.
"I'd like to pick from something other than one single girl character for a change"
I don't know many girls that go out to kill bandits and get lots of gun drops. And don't boohoo to me about "womens in the army", I know one girl personally in the army and that's pretty much a 1:1 ratio to Bro-lands.
ITT: butthurt
"You’re informative, and fun. On the limited budget, I’m sure you have, you guys do an amazing job and should be proud. "
Budget has nothing to do with her ability to stand in front of a camera and speak. That's all on her.
"Jacque says, “Road Warrior Films”. Max is the Road Warrior, he’s in all three, and therefore, they are “Road Warrior Films”."
That's like calling the "Terminator" series the "John Connor Films" – Yeah, John Connor's in them all, but the movies are in the Terminator Universe.
"Another instance in which one of you displays complete ignorance is when TEAM P says, “The game assumes you have friends you can play with.” Jacque was playing alone; the computer treated her character as if someone else was there."
Uhmm… Check your facts there champ. That comment was made by 'the Real JW' – way to make yourself look ignorant.
"Anyway, I love video games and some honest conversation would be great, but please, don’t come back if this is what you guys are all about."
Honest conversation isn't only saying good things about something you think wasn't that great. If you aren't allowed to critique someone, how are they ever going to know what to improve upon? Is Jacque perfect already? Yeah, that's why she has her own #1 rated TV series…
Everything I wrote was generated as honest conversation. It was an open review of what I felt could be done better to help her. The opening was a play on how she compared two like things that are completely different in there own right, but claimed one had supremacy over the other. From there on, I gave nothing but honest opinion on what I felt could be improved upon to make things better in the future. If you can't handle that, then you shouldn't be on the internet, television or in movies. Criticism is the first thing you will receive.
Nice job Jacque! Keep up the good work!
