Yeah I agree with Dennis – the best thing the movie has going for it is the visuals and FX. So, maybe there is a three or five dollar theater around you that will play it once it has been out awhile? That way at least you get the big screen…

Overall though, yes, to me its not a $12 movie.

I liked Dark City, and enjoyed most of the BSG finale (though there are certain episodes in 2nd half of season 4 that bother me)

The thing that sucks about this movie being a rental, is that the saving positive of the visuals is lessened at home as opposed to the big screen where you can see the destruction in a large format. If that is enough of a reason to see it in the theatre then do so, however it is a long journey.

So what I take from this is 'rental'.

'Knowing' was okay, but as it went on, it was harder to hold on to my suspension of disbelief until, at the end, I was saying "You have go to be kidding me."

If you want a Nick Cage movie, I'd go 'Next', it is his dream superhero movie role. Way better than 'Ghostrider'.

There are some nice biblical references in the movie aswell, which as a christian I liked (I was one of those people who loved the BSG finale, sue me =P) And I recommend it. Though, you may have some trouble if your not a Nicholas Cage fan. And it's got the teeniest bit of Dark City-ishness to it ala, dark shadow-y figures.

Personally, I liked it, it may have a few problems, but I felt it was different enough from most other movies that I could over look those minor things.

Oh, geez, I haven't seen it since it was in theaters, so, time to think way back =P

Basically, 50 years ago, this girl has fits where she writes down seemingly random numbers, and then she does it for a time capsule school project that won't be opened for fifty years. Cut to fifty years later, where the family dynamic of single parent with troubled in someway kid is presented. anyway, this kid goes the same school the girl from fifty years ago went to, and during the time capusle opening ceremoy he's the one who gets the seeminly random numbers.

Daddy sees it, and I forget why, but he begins to realize that the numbers relate to every (major?) disaster since awhile back, including some that haven't happened yet…

I didn't see 'Knowing' but I heard mixed reviews about it. I like the director Alex Proyas, so I'll probably check it our eventually. What did you think of it?

I haven't seen this movie, but from what I've heard, I think it's trying to be 'Knowing" with a happy ending. I did think 'Knowing' was a great disaster flick (Which is not synonomous with a great movie) but this one, again from what I've heard, uses every disaster movie cliche in it's too long timespan.
