Check out me and Roth’s review of the game changing episode of FlashForward “The Gift”. This was my favorite episode since the pilot, and has now created much more suspense and tension for the series. Let us know what you thought of the episode, did you like it as much as us?

What’s the opposite of jump the shark? This episode was it! I was actually pretty close to giving up on FlashForward. I had both “Gimme Some Truth” and “Scary Monsters and Super Creeps” queued up in my DVR and was seriously considering not watching them. I did and both of those episodes were so much better than the ones before, even though there were still serious problems, I decided to keep watching. This episode “The Gift” completely knocked me out of my chair. I did not expect them to allow someone to change the future in such a dramatic way after hitting us over the head with concept that the flash forwards were immutable over and over. WOW. I’m hooked now.

Good way to put it, about being the opposite of jumping the shark. For me this episode may have saved the season/series. It's opened up different things that may and could happen for the show. Looking forward to seeing Dominic Monaghan's character Simon in the next episode.

I think overall the series needed ground work, and this episode really hammered home the central theme of what this series is truly about: Idealism vs. Cynicism. I believe the agent Gough truly believed he was taking the Idealistic approach by setting everyone free from their own prisons within their minds. Simply the best writing I've seen in any series bar none.

I agree! This is the one that really did turn it around and now I am actively looking forward to seeing where they take this show!
Thanks Elizabeth!
