JJ Abrams Secretly Developing ‘500 Rads’

So JJ Abrams can pretty much do whatever he wants now, right? I mean, come on; Hollywood is at his creative mercy. Alias, Lost, Fringe, Mission Impossible 3, Cloverfield, Star Trek…that’s a pretty damn impressive track record for anyone, but I think I know what makes Abrams’ stuff so appealing. He always delivers in spades despite whatever flaws the project may have, and he loves playing with his audience. The easter egg hunts on Lost, the out-of-nowhere Cloverfield trailer and year of viral campaigns that followed. Hell, I bet there’s at least one out there for this movie RIGHT NOW.
Anyway, JJ Abrams has been developing a secret project through his studio, Bad Robot, titled 500 Rads based on an extensive outline he wrote and scripted by Jeff Pinkner (Alias, Lost, Fringe). Pinkner has just returned to Fringe, so Abrams has been reaching out to other Bad Robot writers. What’s known about the project is that it’s in the vein of both Cloverfield and 28 Days Later, so most are speculating it’s some sort of zombie movie. (A rad is “an absorbed radiation dose”, 500 rads isĀ enough to kill a human male, or at least make them sterile). I’m hoping that Clover mention alludes to their being a creature or something, aswell. Someone mentioned it might be a fertility movie ala Children Of Men, but who the hell knows? With JJ Abrams it really could be anything.

It's so true. This man can do no harm.
Altho I think we may see the end of his days if he continues to cahoot with that slime-o in the picture above.
Unless this is merely a shot of JJ saying something along the lines of: "Who are you again?! Oh, right, right, that example of what never to do with any of the supposed genius I have been blessed with. Ok, you can go now, I won't let your taint infect any of my work going forward. Thanks for the visit. Ciao."
