Check out me and Roth’s review of the highly talked about and hyped Paranormal Activity. See what we thought, and if it lives up to the hype.  The first part is spoiler free, and then the second half after our grades has spoilers in it.

What did you think of the movie? Was it as scary as people said?

I'll definitely download it when it comes up on the net. Hell, maybe I'll even splurge and rent it ;) I LOVE a good scare, and it's disappointing to me that this movie is not living up to its hype. I was really hoping for another The Ring (American version – haven't seen the Japanese one yet) experience. Maybe for us horror enthusiasts (and skeptics, D, haha) it's a different experience than for those who would call it the scariest movie ever.

Great review as always! Also for me Blair Witch Project was the scariest movie I've ever seen. I thought it was even scarier than the exorcist. It was mostly that part at the end which was foreshadowed at the beginning with the interviews of the townspeople. I hadn't really heard much about people thinking it was that scary so I didn't expect to be terrifying which probably helped in making it more scary. But yeah I'm definitely seeing Paranormal activity on dvd because everyones saying its creepier that way.

Yeah I think it might lend itself to the story – when you do see it – let us know what you think!

If you were really scared by Blair Witch, you will be terrified of Paranormal Activity, it's similar but executed better.

Were you scared by Blair Witch? If so, this will scare you. But if not, you might not like this so much. Either way, let us know what you think if you see it!

Yeah I totally felt like Blair Witch was done in a very creepy way that often got the better of me.

Another movie that is coming out that offers a clean alternative is ‘’Paranormal.’’ Below is some additional information about this new thriller!!

Paranormal, the latest supernatural thriller from Cross Shadow Productions, (the
creators of the Dove.org approved, best-selling BMG releases: Pray and Pray 2:
The Woods) will be available in stores nationwide January 26th 2010. The 2009 Mrs. America is starring in it.

Following the success of family-friendly suspense/thriller The Exorcism of Emily
Rose (Sony Pictures), comes a riveting supernatural thriller in the vein of the hit
SyFy television series, Ghost Hunters and Frank Peretti's House (Roadside
    Attractions / Lionsgate).

Paranormal follows best-selling, self-made novelist Greg Evans struggling through the worst case of writer's block in his award-winning career. In a desperate search for
inspiration, Greg quickly finds himself immersed in a world he is not prepared to face.
Turning to a group of paranormal investigators, Greg and the ghost hunting team search for proof and answers, yet are unaware they are about to have an experience of a
lifetime! None will leave the way they came. Paranormal will peel back the supernatural curtain to reveal how The TRUTH will EXPOSE the darkness!

    SPOILERS

So I finally saw it yesterday. And it really freaked me out. Its definitely the 2nd scariest movie I've ever seen. I thought Blair Witch was scarier and heres why. My main problem with the movie and while it is minor it kept it from being just as scary if not scarier than blair witch. I didn't like how they used CGI at the very end with her mouth. Because it kept the movie from being set in reality for me. I think the thing that should've happened was instead of her doing that cgi thing at the end, I think she should've picked up the camera and banged it on the floor until it went out.
But I was really scared by everything else. ESPECIALLY her standing for hours. One of my favorite scenes was when she just went downstairs it was just so eerie and then him going downstairs not knowing whats going on. It did remind me of blair witch ALOT not just because of the camera but because of the subtle creepiness of it. The thing that got me about Blair Witch was the ending it was done perfectly and Paranormals ending was pretty good too it just the mouth getting too big that kept it from being perfect. But I think whether or not you find Paranormal scary it is a really good movie and I liked it alot.
