Interesting review. I don't know how or why but I missed some of the high points of the episode. I'm glad I watched this review to help me clear up some confusion. You guys are the best.
As for the books, I've read them and I don't think Astor's falling down that path, it would be nice to see but we sort of got that storyline with Miguel last season. Plus, it wouldn't feel right if Cody wasn't in on it too.
as to who Trinity might be targeting next, I'd have to say he's going for Dexter or Lundy. Both are great candidates but I think Trinity would have killed Lundy years ago when they first starting this thing. No where does it say that Lundy has met the guy and we don't get previews of them meeting up. All signs point to Dexter for this one.
I just thought of it but I think LaGuerta and Angel were both about to be those characters that have no family or social life, well other than hanging out with Vince, but anyway, they have no family and they were becoming lone wolves so I think the writer's wrote them in a relationship so we wouldn't single them out.
Thanks Landfill
Yeah Astor just seems to be going through normal teenage girl stuff – unfortunately for Dexter
.
I'd like to check the books out now. Do you think it makes more sense to keep watching the series before I read them? Or do they work well together?
I think Trinity is going after Dexter as well and that it'll be quite a showdown when he does.
That makes sense about Angel and Laguarda – I really liked him with the other lady cop from last season -and haven't really seen her in a pairing I love yet.
Thanks for posting!

Yeah it seems as though LaGuerta is unlovable with the first two seasons. She's grown somewhat after the death of Doakes because we see her in a different light especially this season.
I say go ahead with the books, the first book was the inspiration for the series and the first season but after that, the show and the books go their separate ways. The books are good because they give a different story to Dexter and he feels less human in them. The series borrows a few elements from the books but nothing is actually word for word. I haven't read the latest book but as soon as I do, I'll tell you if it's worth reading.
Somebody on YouTube said something interesting about Laguerta – that in past seasons she has been falling for these strong-willed guys who keep breaking her heart, so she needs someone sweet like Angel. I'm just not sure on how their relationship is serving the overall story arc.
As for who Trinity's going to target next, I conversely think that Dexter is going to be the one seeking _him_ out – because he finds him so intriguing. I pegged Lundy as his next victim just because he's older.. though we don't yet know how old Trinity's father was when he died. Maybe you're right – Lundy will just continue to give chase. The next Trinity victim will most likely be someone we haven't met yet, like with the mother. We do know he's a Scotch drinker
Fun to speculate! Thanks for your comments =)
I am enjoying this season so far. It took me a while to warm up to Smits last season, but Carradine and Lithgow are not intrusive this year. I'm not a huge fan of Carradine's character, to be honest, but as a fulcrum to the plot he is ok this season.
I just hope we do not go back to the well of guest stars too often. Of course most of them are dead.
@rothcornet
ymmv, but I did not care for the books I think because I read them after I got used to the tv series. Maybe its a personal thing with me, but I found I didn't care for em.
Hey drunkebhopfrog!
Thanks for commenting! Took me awhile to warm up as well last season. I am loving this season – did you see last nights ep? What did you think? I really liked it and am exited to do the review. Thanks for the heads up on the books.
I hear they are quite different if I end up checking them out I'll let you know what I think. Thanks again for commenting!
All The Best!
