Here is our video review of FlashForward’s third episode called “137 Sekunden”.  Me and Roth were disappointed in this episode after a great premiere episode and strong second episode.  Watch it and let us know what you think of the episode and our review, thanks!

I’ve gone from having almost nothing to watch to having to make priority choices on my DVR. Unfortunately, Flashforward doesn’t seem to be living up to the premise or the pilot. I’ll give it a few more episodes but I may have to ax this one.
Great review – I agree totally with your assessments. Mark is totally in charge of everything? Really no one else is bothering to investigate this phenomenon scientifically as in reviewing any and all natural/unnatural occurrence that might correlate with the event? Wouldn’t there be a crack team of scientists with Manhattan project priority on this? If you read the book – which bears almost no resemblance to this show – the mystery is all about physics. I guess that too high brow for TV.
BTW – more movie reviews. I need help deciding on whether to see Surrogates and Pandorum both of which have received lack luster reviews. I trust you guys the most!

Hey Elizabeth! Good to hear from ya! Yeah – the last two episodes were not as strong as the pilot for me – I agree. I think it is a strong premise and will give it a few more episodes to rebound I think.I'd like to read the book now that you have described what it's about – do you think I should wait for more of the series to develop before I do?

I saw Surrogates but did not see Pandorum – was too sick to go.

Surrogates was okay. They created a really interesting world – unfortunately the actual story was not as strong as the world it took place in and it had a holes in the plot and an not quite as satisfying as it could of been resolution. I;d say it;s a rental.

Thanks again for commenting and hope you are great!

    Talk to you soon!

Definitely read the book. Flashforward by Robert Sawyer. Other than the premise – everyone in the world blacks out and sees the future – there is no resemblance to the TV series. No need to worry about spoilers. Clearly, on the show they decided to go with the tried and true conspiracy theory theme. I’m pretty tired of it. It works on Fringe but enough already. I don’t think I’m giving away too much by saying that there is no conspiracy in the book – it is purely a scientific phenomenon that is solved by scientists. And a big difference is that the flashforward is 25 years in the future not six months. I admit not really exciting television but if you are a fan of science fiction then it is a good read. Other than the event itself with spectacular destructive imagery, it seems like a surprising choice for television.

Call me crazy, but the thing at the end looked to me like a cloaked spaceship. Which made me say, "Really, is THAT where we're going with this?"

  5. Fish Says:

I am right there with you guys, I was excited by the pilot but each subsequent episode has been worse. Ridiculous holes in logic, and can you get past the fact that some random regional FBI office is now running everything with no oversight or additional staff?

  6. Elizabeth Says:

I actually thought it kind of looked like the infamous Lost smoke monster.

  7. USF Says:

I miss all the FlashForward-Lost connections, because I have never seen Lost… I feel like I must be the only one. haha

  8. ThinkHero Says:

I'm just hoping it doesn't go the way of Heroes, where it just gets worse and worse. It's still early so we can't say fr sure yet, but let's hope not.

I have a couple friends that haven't seen LOST, so you aren't the only one, hahaha

I wonder why they chose to make a TV series from the book, when only the very basic stuff is similar. Might as well just create a brand new show.

The wife an I were out of the house so i missed this episode. I'll have to watch it on-line tonight.
Yeah Agent Noh is my favorite character right now.
AND this is where i Nerd out. I just don't see how anyone would be taking it as their future is set in stone. Once you know the future you can change it. Assistant Director Wedeck could just be like, "Hmm it's 4-29-10. I think i'm just gonna take a shit at home today instead of at the office." And if it really was their future then how come we didn't see everybody in their Flash Forward going "Holy Shit?! This is my Flash Forward. I'm living it this time." I would be like a Deja Vu that you knew was coming. And with how dramatic of an effect the Flash Forward had on everybody on the planet, there is no way people wouldn't be sitting there in anticipation waiting for their Flash Forward.
Like i really want one of Agent Benford's co-work to come up to the board. Take one piece of evidence and move it to another location and Scream, "BAM! Future changed!"
Either way, i'll atleast keep watching it till the resolve what happens with Noh.

Glad to see someone else that likes Agent Noh and his storyline. I've been seeing some hate on him because he was in Harold and Kumar, and can't get past the non-comedy role.

Your take on Stan the FBI AD is hilarious and totally makes sense! Why would he do that when he knew that it was D-Day and the time it was going to happen?

Basically he took a crap 3 times during the important moments, once during blackout, then lived it in his flashforward, then he has to live it again on D-Day.
