Here is the first teaser trailer for the recently rebooted A Nightmare On Elm Street franchise starring Jackie Earle Haley (Rorschach in Watchmen) as Freddy Krueger. Also starring in the movie are Thomas Dekker (Sarah Connor Chronicles) and Kyle Gallner (Veronica Mars and Jennifer’s Body).
I’ve personally never watched any of the franchise’s films, but from this teaser trailer this reboot seems kind of interesting.
What do you think of this teaser trailer? Is it a good idea to reboot the franchise? What do you think of Freddy’s new face? (Shown at the end of the trailer)

Actually looks like something I'll watch. I too never bothered with the original movies (not a single one), but this actually doesn't look bad for a horror flik.
Yeah, I've never seen any of the originals either and this looks interesting to me too. Perhaps its Jackie Earle Haley or how they are setting it up to be an origin/motivation story for Freddy Krueger?

His motivation was in the original as well, but it looks like they're changing the context for this one to get you to sympathize with him – I don't know about that, he's supposed to be a killing machine psychopath, not out for vengeance.. per se.
I noticed that too, and it's my primary reason for hating the Friday The 13th remake. Turning Jason into an ex-Navy Seal/pot farmer was ridiculous. But with Freddy I think there's a bit more to consider: Is it a real flashback or is it a dream? Is it happening the way it really happened or is Freddy showing the kids what he wants them to see?

Whether it's a good idea or not, it seems like every classic horror movie is being remade now into a gorier, sexier, not as good version of the first. But I am a fan of the original Nightmare, and I'd be interested in seeing this. I think just from the teaser it looks like it will have some cool visuals, and I love Hayley and the other two guys, Gallner and Dekker – I'll keep my expectations low, though.
I like what they've done with Freddy the most I always found him unscary because he talked. But now he's creepier they pulled off making the way he talks a lot scarier. I just wish Bay wasn't involved ever since I saw the video of you guys parodying him I now am disgusted by all of the movies he's done.
Hahaha, I guess we accomplished our mission if you feel that way about Michael Bay after seeing our parody video. Hopefully he's producer in name only, and they let the director do his thing, and then we can judge him on his work without thinking about Bay.
