Kevin Williamson, writer of Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and the current Vampire Diaries just dropped a tweet stating “Yes on Neve! Whew!” which turned out to be a reference to Williamson’s current plans to revive his Scream series as another trilogy. This points to an article at Variety where Bob Weinstein unveils plans for his genre studio, Dimension Films.

Among other things comes first official confirmation that Neve Campbell will be returning as Sydney Prescott for Scream 4, alongside previous castmembers Courtney Cox-Arquette and David Arquette. Wes Craven is circling the project as director. There studio also has current plans for a Halloween 3D film helmed by My Bloody Valentine’s Patrick Lussier, and reboots of Hellraiser, Children Of The Corn, and Scanners. Oddly enough among all the horror Robert Rodriguez is prepping Spy Kids IV. Come on, Rob. Direct something cool already. Shorts for Machete is not a fair trade.
