New ‘Stargate Universe’ Promo (VIDEO)

I’ve never watched Stargate SG-1 or Atlantis, but I’m actually anticipating Stargate Univerese AKA SGU.  It looks like they are putting a lot into the show and are hoping it can be the next BSG for the Syfy network. What do you think about SGU and past Stargate series?

I never bothered with Atlantis either. . . . too many flimsy characters and acting. SG1 was the beez kneez as my Aussie friend would say.

This, since this being the first video I've seen for it, actually looks like it could fall either way. It's not a very revealing bit of info and I'm not sure how I'll sit with some random strangers randomly tripping through a stargate; which is what I gleaned from that clip.

Being Stargate though, I'll at least give it an honest shot.

I haven't seen the other ones, but from the commercials, doesn't it seem like they have put more money in the production value and special effects?

No I agree I think the production value looks a lot fresher and cleaner than the other series. Just don't think their tiny commercial paints a clear picture of any kind.

Of course this is the new breed from the people who thought it would be more hip to rename themselves SyFy to you know. . . alienate the entire subculture that were generally the only people who gave a shit about the channel. So, maybe it's in their new tactics to use bit-fo-mercials. ;)
