Christoph Waltz has been cast as the villain in Seth Rogen’s upcoming Green Hornet. Waltz is currently blowing people’s minds as Col. Hans Landa, The Jew Hunter in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds. Waltz will play Chudnofsky, a Los Angeles crime boss who tries to unite the city’s various gangs in order to form a supermafia. The role was previously supposed to star Nicolas Cage whose negotiations fell through last week. Seth Rogen plays the tite role as a newspaper publisher by day who becomes a masked crime fighter at night. Asian pop star Jay Chou plays his martial arts-skilled sidekick and chauffeur Kato, while Cameron Diaz plays the love interest. The film is being directed by Michel Gondry from a screenplay by Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg (Superbad).

The is the best news for Green Hornet. I'm now fully on board this new film. I can't wait to see how Watlz interacts with Rogen and Diaz.

Yes, this makes me want to see the movie much more than I did before. Wasn't too thrilled about it, but this will hopefully add an interesting element to Green Hornet.
