According to The Vancouver Sun, UFC star Quinton “Rampage” Jackson is set to play B.A. Baracus (the role that Mr. T made famous) in the upcoming A-Team movie. Also starring in the move version of the 80’s classic TV show, are Liam Neeson as Hannibal and Bradley Cooper as Face.
“Rampage” who was set to fight Rashard Evans at UFC 107, is now delayed and will be headline a different card. “Rampage” is currently in Vancouver filmming for 6 weeks which will temporarily postpone his fighting career. Jackson and Evans are also set to the coaches for the Ultimate Fighter reality/competition show, which starts in mid-September.
What do you think of this casting? Originally Ice Cube and Tyrese were rumored for the role, do you think either of them were better choices?
I personally wouldn’t have minded seeing Ice Cube as B.A.

I think it's an injustice to the talented and trained black men in the acting field who have worked their asses off trying to get a job.

Who do you think should have played B.A.? I would have gone with Ice Cube.

As cool as Icecube is, i don't think he is large enough to play BA. Being that i have know idea how well Rampage can act, i'm gonna just pull a wait and see on this one. Though if i had to recommend some one, Michael Jai White. He's got the size and the acting skills to pull it off. Or maybe Michael Clark Dunken.

I almost feel like Michael Clarke Duncan might be too big. Also he's always played a friendly guy, not sure if he can pull off the "badass" in B.A.

I think this is a good fit. Rampage is big enough and bad enough (with his cage persona) to pull off a B.A. Just not sure where his acting skills will put him.
Ice Cube is an alright actor but just not large enough or even scary enough.
Michael Clark is too often cast as the gentle giant and I think people just have him pegged for that. Whole 9 Yards aside that is. I also agree he's just too big of a man.
