Looks like Queen Amidala, Natalie Portman will be joining Kenneth Branagh’s Thor, and will play Jane Foster, nurse to Thor‘s alter-ego Donald Blake. I’m suprised that Portman is back to a “geek” genre movie, as the Star Wars prequels were not a pleasant experience for the actors involved, and the critical reviews of the both the movies and the acting performances were probably in the back of her mind.
Hopefully this movie turns out well, and she can forget those painfully flat performances (mostly Lucas’s fault) in the prequels, and become more open to “geek” genre movies.

Don't forget she was in V for Vendetta. Not really sure if that falls into the same category as being geeky but it was based off a comic book, like Thor. Anyway, I thought we already knew all this. I guess this is just confirmation of the casting.
Yeah forgot about V for Vendetta, definitely counts for geek movies. I liked the first half of V for Vendetta, then it started turning bad.

Yep, right about the point she started turning bald. I mean how would you like to shave your head for a terrible movie? Oh well maybe she'll turn in a better performance with a full head of hair in Thor.
The only cool thing that came of Natalie Portman shaving her hair, was the SNL skit where she raps, and still has her short hair that's growing back from after V for Vendetta.
