“Alien Nation” Being Remade for SCI FI Channel

The late 80’s and early 90’s TV series and TV movies franchise Alien Nation is going to be remade for the SCI FI Channel, and is being headed up by Tim Minear, the co-producer and writer on many Joss Whedon projects like Firefly and Dollhouse.
I guess it comes at no suprise, since V, an 80’s classic sci fi TV series was being remade, it was probably inevitable that Alien Nation would get a shot.
I never really watched the series, as the aliens looked kind of strange and hokey with there almost human appearance except with large head and dots. However with Tim Minear, who wrote one of my favorite Firefly episodes (Out of Gas), heading about this remake, I definitely will give it a try.
Did any of you watch the original? Was it any good?

It actually was pretty decent, at least some of the episodes. It was cop-buddy show with the Alien twist. I watched it back when UPN had some cool programming on Saturdays. It came way after V though, seems a bit soon for a re-make.

I didn't know it was on UPN, were those the reruns? I think the original run was on FOX.

Yeah, they got the re-runs. Saturday was a great Sci-Fi/Fantasy line-up back in the last 90s early 00s…nothing like it any more.
