According to my friend John Campea, the founder of TheMovieBlog.com, who saw Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen on Friday, the highly anticipated sequel has something in common with the Star Wars prequels: An overly stereotypical ethnic caricature in the form of ”The Twins”.
From what he says and others are reporting online, apparently “The Twins” are the new Jar Jar Binks. Apparently they talk like they are from the ‘hood’ and apparently give a big enough negative impression to be labeled in the same category as the controversial and much hated Jar Jar Binks.
I’m seeing the movie on Tuesday at midnight, so I guess I know at least one of the many things I will be cringing at while seeing it.

I remember seeing their character designs (especially their faces) awhile back and thinking "I can already tell, they're gonna annoy the living hell out of me."
Yeah there seems to be alot of stuff that people are going to love to hate in this movie, judging from some of the clips.
Hopefully the big robots fighting will be entertaining. Maybe I'll just put on headphones during dialogue scenes, hahaha
Dennis
Yeah, let's just say I'm expecting it to be an entertaining movie with awesome special effects… but I'm not expecting it to not be ridiculous.
The CG work on the robots looks amazing, so that's something to look forward to. Too bad the story and dialogue will suck.
Also Megan Fox will be good eye candy as well.
Dennis
Yeah, no thanks!
I'm wondering on a scale of 1-10 of how annoying these characters are, with 10 being Jar Jar Binks equivalent.
Dennis
Having seen the movie yesterday I have to disagree. The twins are in no way as bad a Jar Jar Binks – they're on a par with the jive talking Jazz from the original movie, but not as bad as Binks… plus they got the biggest laugh of the film.
I actually thought this might happen with the twins. I mean the idea to have them wasn't a good one in the first place.
Yeah, Michael Bay isn't known for his restraint, he follows "the more the better" philsophy, and probably why you get to see tons of big robots fighting, but won't remember any of them except for the annoying ones like these.
Dennis
Yes you are very correct about Michael Bay. I guess that rule that he has has made him alot of money. His movies lack in quality but they excel in quantity.
