In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Buffy creator Joss Whedon has been reported as saying that he was finally approached by the producers, but declined their offer to join the project.
“I think that’s something better left untouched by me,” Whedon tells Entertainment Weekly. “So I wish them luck.”
My guess is that because of what happened on the original Buffy movie, Whedon is not too thrilled at doing a Buffy movie with the same people who messed around with the original movie.
What do you think of this news? If Whedon has turned it down, does that make it okay now for Buffy fans to see the reboot, as he had the opportunity to work on it but declined?

Of course he'd turn it down since they announced it first THEN asked him. I think it's Whedon just trying to be done with these horrible people. "Kuzui Enterprises had no practical involvement in the productions." Seriously, what's the last film they produced? Orgazmo. In 1997. I'm gonna side with Whedon on this one and wish this mistake away.
Absolutly.
Just the right decision by Joss, and I won't watch that crappy movie.
I have a feeling it's going to bomb in the box office pretty badly.
