Harry Potter Faces Additional Delays – Imax This Time

Once again Potter gets pushed. This time in IMAX.
According to firstshowing.net – The Harry Potter Half Blood Prince IMAX release will be delayed by two weeks in order to give Transformers Two it’s full four week release.
To make matters worse, this new Harry Potter will have 12 minutes of scenes converted to 3D, just like Order of the Phoenix did back in 2007 as well.
Firstshowing speculates that this will irritate already irritated IMAX viewers:
This is yet another issue that IMAX will have to deal with coming off of the attempted boycott by Aziz Ansari due to screen size issues. Will the fans be upset again?
I say Potter fans are going to be pretty pissed at any additional delays in the release of this film. Fans were already disappointed when the film lost its November release (making way for Twilight). It’s curious to me why such a hugely successful franchise is being pushed aside. It just seems like really poor communication on the parts of the IMAX execs and the studios. Or it could be that real fans will go see the move twice, once on a regular screen and then again two weeks later on an IMAX screen. What do you guys think?

Seriously, what the hell is going on with WB?? Since when does a competing studio care about giving some other movie its run? What are they trying to prove?! I didn't get it when the movie was delayed the first time around (and I WAS pissed!), but this is getting ridiculous! Not that I was particularly planning on seeing it in IMAX anyway, but wtf?! I thought movies and studios were all about competition..? o.0
